I had the same problem. Although I get free knobs from my local appliance store, this was not satisfactory. Knobs should not break in less than a year of normal use. Frigidaire's design, manufacture and quality control of their knobs is obviously flawed. That replacement knobs are sold to their customers, which will break again, is simple corporate arrogance.

So, you can do what Frigidaire will not do, improve their knob - by filling the void around the knob stem with epoxy. When it cures you will have a solid trouble-free knob.

1. Gently pull a knob off a switch you do not use - e.g. the dryer signal off-on switch.

2. Buy a tube of epoxy for plastic. I prefer Loctite Plastic Epoxy, but probably any good epoxy will work.

3. Put the knob in a vise or have another means to keep it from moving and level.

4. Mix up enough epoxy to fill the interior void around the white stem, that has the black metal sleeve in it.

5. Be sure you fill the knob interior up to the very top of the stem. (The first time I did this I did not fill with epoxy to the very top and the unsupported plastic broke after a while.)

6. Wait the required time for the epoxy to cure. After it cures, you have a improved, solid knob, which will perform for a long, long time. Problem solved.

Frigidaire should take note, but all they know is how to foist a flawed part onto the consumer to pay for again and again.

PS My 1 star relates to the short durability of the knob part.

Direct OEM replacement.
NOTE: There are some online cross references that shows this part (Frigidaire 134844410 Selector Knob), as something that would fit a Frigidaire Gallery Series Model # GLET1041AS1.. This is not correct information.
Part number 1340349 is the selector knob you are looking for.

I used the picture to match my dryer, Wrong thing to do these Knobs are too short and do not fit. Thought the price was great, only to find you they dont fit although they look exactly like the ones on my dryer. By not showing the inside of the knob, you think they are all alike , they need to show both the outside and inside, but then they wouldnt have gotten any money from me for something I cant use and the cost to return is more than I spent. Show both sides

This is not a review of the part supplier but of Frigiaire, that makes deffective knobs.

I share the plight of people who find the starting switch knob on the dryer breaks often, and rarely last more than six months.

This knob does not fit on the dryers advertised! My product came in a sealed electrolux/frigidaire bag, so I have no doubt it was a genuine product. It just does not match the dimensions of the previous knob. I agree that a picture of the back of the knob would help reduce the number of mistake orders because I would have been able to see that this product would not work. Also, this is not to fault the seller. All websites I looked at said this part would work on my dryer, not just this listing. The original part number (1340349) is apparently not made any more as I cannot find it anywhere and everywhere I look refers me to this new part number.

I read several good reviews, some bad, and one reviewer who said that without the picture of the opposite side, it was not possible to know if this is the right one. I should have taken that advice to heart. This looks EXACTLY like mine, and the measurements are correct... for the front of the knob. The back piece where it gets attached to the dryer is too small. What an absolute waste of time, effort and money. How could they put this up here without a rear view picture?!
