TWO door bins broke within two years of purchase. Frigidaire won't cover this part under warranty because it is not a "functional" part.

No crap. Doesn't function AT ALL when it is broken.

Might as well make them out of pine bark and snot. I still wouldn't have a door bin and Frigidaire still wouldn't care.

When I called about it, they somberly told me that my parts wouldn't be covered. But, they cheerfully offered to sell me new ones at $31 bucks a pop, plus shipping! And, I could pony up even MORE for an extended warranty! Yay!

Sounds good! I already paid hundreds of dollars for a product that is supposed to give years of service! Why not pay even MORE just to make this thing function as it was supposed to when it left the factory?

Actually, I told them to forget it. I'll find it for cheaper elsewhere. If you're in the same boat, call Frigidaire and get the part number. When they offer to order it for you, politely decline. Then, comb Amazon or eBay for used ones. I saved $20 this way. Plus, some of these bins cross reference with Kenmore, and those are usually cheaper than the "genuine" Frigidaire models.

If you want to know how often these shelves break, search Amazon for "frigidaire door bin" and read the reviews. No wonder they don't cover it under their warranty...they'd go bankrupt within a month.

UPDATE 5/28/14 - The icemaker has developed a curious and somewhat-less-than-entertaining quality. When you push the ice dispenser on the door, you get chugging and whirring sounds, but no ice. Hold the cup there long enough, and you get a mass of ice which all comes out at once and overflows the cup.

An electrical fire was detected and traced to this product, shortly before the "Warranty" was set to expire. Had no one been home, my house would have burnt to the ground because of this product. The manufacturer insists the only option is to repair components of this product, not replace it. Not only do I not trust something that has tried to burn down my house, but I also do not like the smell of an electrical fire. The certified technician sent to review this situation advised that the smell will never go away. The manufacturer stated the electrical fire smell is a "cosmetic" issue and did not warrent a replacement. If you are looking to keep your food/beverages cold/frozen, you are better off buying ice everyday to refill your cooler like I have to currently.

I also had a fire after only 8 months. I kept telling them I did not want a that had caught fire in my house, but they came out and worked on it less than an hour and stated that was all they would be doing. Thank goodness my son was home and figured out what was on fire after he smelled something and the kitchen was smokey

I have a predecessor to this unit, model GLHS36EESB0. It caught fire in my home on 7/7/2013. Fortunately, the damage was limited to just the refrigerator and it could have been much, much worse. I called Electrolux (parent company for Frigidaire) on 7/9/2013. Electrolux will not compensate my family for the food lost due to the fire (not that I really expected them to; the unit is seven years old after all). However, they didn't even want my pictures. I reasoned, therefore, that the Internet might.

As I said before, I didn't really expect anything in the way of compensation from Electrolux for a seven year old product. I did not, however, expect a seven year old refrigerator to catch fire in my kitchen. I also didn't expect Electrolux to refuse my offer of cooperation--I would have thought that at least one of their engineers might want to have a look at my pictures.

As a consumer, though, I know that you will.

Naturally, I will not be purchasing another Electrolux or Figidaire product again. As a consumer, you might want to think twice about putting an Electrolux/Frigidaire product in your house with your family, especially after looking at the first picture in this review.

I have only had this fridge for 3 weeks and already having issues with the Ice Dispenser. It is icing up, and then has starting to melt to the outer tray in addition to icing up in the exit chute.
I am so far REALLY disappointed!

This fridge is causing a lot of grief. It started with one board being faulted, which is responsible for the water supply. I paid about 300 USD to have it repaired. After multiple botched attempts and blown boards by the technicians, I now am getting the runaround since two years and counting waiting for a different repairman to come by. This fridge also does not have to many fuses, which makes it hard to repair. On a lighter note, it looks great and does a good job, when it is working. However, some levers, especially in the water and ice supply area are made out of plastic and they break easily, which leads to my situation, :( Please leave me a review for my product as well.

I have a Frigidaire refrigerator, it is only two years old with a bad control panel. After looking it up on the Internet, I found out that it is a common problem. I called Frigidaire's customer support for assistance, they told me they couldn't help me because it was out of its one-year warranty, but they were "nice" enough to give me phone numbers to license repairmen. After informing them that many consumers have complain about this on the Internet and that my previous refrigerator lasted almost 20 years but cost much less, they continue to refuse responsibility. I am really disappointed and will never purchase another product by this company. Oh, in addition the freezer and fridge trays break easily.
