Good value, but... August 18, 2010
By M. Chan
Overall we are satisfied with the value of this side-by-side fridge, but there are some drawbacks. PROS: great space and solid construction; real stainless steel doors that magnets will stick to; radiused edges on doors make fridge look smaller than it actually is; LED light on water/ice dispenser is lovely. CONS: loud water pump; no way to lock down roller feet, so fridge tends to roll out of place; water/ice dispenser controller has momentary response delay, which means it's far too easy to end up spilling water or ice on the floor; replacement water filters very expensive and there is no way to bypass the filter with a shunt or cap.

A few weeks after the warranty expired so did the refrigerator. It just stopped working. The lights came on when opening the door so I know electricity was still getting to it, but it just wouldn't get cold. I had a repairman over to look at it and he said it would cost a total of $927 to fix. According to the repairman this is typical with Frigidaire refrigerators (also sold by Sears under the "Sears" brand name). He said they have the worst quality of any refrigerator he has worked on. I'll never buy a Frigidaire again!
