5.0 out of 5 stars Very Quiet, Excellent Cleaning, Our 4th Frigidaire
Updated December 10, 2007. We moved a few times and each time inherited another dishwasher brand, usually a GE or Whirlpool. Each time, we come back to the Frigidaire, usually a lower model, however, with such a positive experience decided to go with their high end. Update: since this was originally written, we've had three units fail due to the electronics. All...

2.0 out of 5 stars Good and bad
As dishwashers go, this one does a reasonable job washing dishes. Good points:

--It's quiet
--It has some useful adjustments on the racks if you want to fit in large dishes

Mine has had two bad points:

--Within a few weeks of buying it, it would stop with an error code on the front. This would happen at various points in the...

5.0 out of 5 stars Very Quiet, Excellent Cleaning, Our 4th Frigidaire, September 9, 2007

All happened within 30 days with the same problem, so warranty was a life-saver, however it is annoying and disappointing.

Pro:
-Excellent cleaning power, loads that took two or more tries with our old GE model are done in one with this one
-Redesigned upper rack provides more space (eliminated the center water diffuser)
-Redesign also improved design of fold-away holders on the upper rack improving the capacity/handling of small dishes in the top rack
-Lastly, redesign also improved our ability to close the dishwashing detergent lid... fixed issue with prior models when pouring extra detergent into the smaller detergent compartment. Older models had a tendency to jam the lid so that it would not close/seal, this was fixed
-All buttons are hidden, only a small digital display to let you know how far along your wash is
-Allows sanitize and high temp wash at one time, a feature that our GE unit blocked/didn't allow
-Options to save energy, like top rack wash only are nice
-We swear the Gallery series not only cleans better but the design allows you to effectively hold more dishes
-Very, very quiet. Run it anytime and it won't ruin your party.
-"Standard size" should fit nicely where your last dishwasher was
-Sleek look and handle is very appealing
-The bottom area under the lower rack is very open and flat so that it's easier to see small, light items that have fallen there. An oversized drain screen ensures good drainage too!

Con:
-The bottom section is black, would have preferred it also be stainless
-Quality of the electronics is lacking

Bottom line: Not recommended until design/manufacturing flaw fixed. Note that quality issues have surfaced since this review was originally posted, and Amazon does not allow you to edit the "star" rating. We it had repaired twice and completely replaced once and finally forced to get a refund and we bought another brand. All things considered, new rating is "1 or 2 stars".

--Within a few weeks of buying it, it would stop with an error code on the front. This would happen at various points in the cycle.
--When I called customer server they really couldn't help much and, in cases were a bit gruff.

For what it's worth, I asked the repairman who came what he thought of Frigidaire dishwashers. His comments weren't positive. When I mentioned that I had planned to buy a Whirlpool he said he thought that that might have been a better choice.

1.0 out of 5 stars Leaks and steam damaged circuit boards - avoid Frigidaire, May 31, 2009
This review is from: Frigidaire PLD4375RFC PLD4375RFC Built-In Dishwasher
I purchased an identical model (slightly different model number) in July 2008. In November 2008 the unit leaked and it took until December 22nd for them to replace a faulty gasket (Frigidaire knew the gasket was designed faulty).

In May 2009, the dishwasher stopped working because steam had reached the main control circuitboard. I realized that this was a design flaw that affects many Frigidaire models and blogged about it. [...]

The photo shows the inadequate venting in the side of the unit that led to the circuitry's demise.

Avoid Frigidaire. There are so many other good brands you can go with.

1.0 out of 5 stars JUNK!!! DO NOT BUY!!!, March 10, 2009
This review is from: Frigidaire PLD4375RFC PLD4375RFC Built-In Dishwasher
After spending nearly $1000 in the original purchase, installation, and repairs, I've decided to cut my losses and trash this dishwasher. Bought this product (or a similar one in this product line) 2 years ago. The user interface broke after only a year (but outside the warranty period). Without the user interface (the buttons used to run the thing), the entire dishwasher isn't of much good to you. After spending $230 on labor and a new user interface panel, the same part broke again after only about 5 months (again, outside the 90 day part warranty). Do NOT buy this product!!! I have always been a fan of Frigidaire for having economical prices and seemingly strong products, but this is the worse product from them I have ever bought, and I may never buy anything involving the Electrolux name (the true brand behind Frigidaire) again! For $1000, I could've easily bought a Bosch, and I will next time before wasting money on Frigidaire!

1.0 out of 5 stars Which is worse, Frigidaire products or Frigidaire customer service?, June 14, 2009
This review is from: Frigidaire PLD4375RFC PLD4375RFC Built-In Dishwasher
I bought this dishwasher 1 year ago. It was noisy, belched steam, and overflowed with foam regularly. While still under warranty, the electronic control panel went out 3 times (a $230 part). Finally, our repairman refused to fix it because the cost of parts was now more than we'd paid for the unit. He told us to call Frigidaire to get it replaced. (Note: the 800 number is a recording giving you a toll number. The toll number keeps you on hold for at least 20 minutes each call.) Frigidaire refused to replace it because 1) it was still repairable, 2) we hadn't gotten two opinions from other repairmen, 3) they hadn't been advised of the problem by the repairman. Each time I'd call, they told me my problem had to be reviewed by their Complaints Department, and they would call me back after 48 hours. They never called back. Each time I would call back after 3 or 4 days, and would have to start the claim process all over again with a new representative because they "lost" the paperwork every time. After 5 weeks of arguing over the phone, demand letters, and consultation with my attorney, they finally agreed to replace it. Fortunately the dealer, US Appliance, gave us a refund, and we bought a Whirlpool. The only thing worse than Frigidaire dishwashers is Frigidaire Customer Service. (Honestly, "Frigidaire" and "service" in the same sentence is an oxymoron!)

1.0 out of 5 stars There is no option for zero stars., February 11, 2009
This review is from: Frigidaire PLD4375RFC PLD4375RFC Built-In Dishwasher
Against my husbands better judgement, I bought this dishwasher as an upgrade, mostly because I thought the Frigidaire Professional Series appliances were so pretty. I decided to go ahead and purchase the dishwasher and hoped for the best, I didn't want my husband to prove me wrong as he had seen some negative reviews about many Frigidaire appliances.

I loaded a few dishes to test how well it performed, it was extemely quiet and I was starting to question if it was even working. I could hear the water fill and the tiny front display said it was washing. I opened the door many times to see if the arms were even spinning and I then found out that they were not. My dishes never got wet so we played around with it a few hours thinking maybe there was some sort of packaging left inside to prevent them from moving during shipping. This wasn't the case, it wasn't working at all. We thought maybe it was an electrical problem so we turned it completely off and reset the breaker thinking maybe it was just a fluke. After that, the power wouldn't even come on.

The installation guy came back out and the breaker was turned back on, the power strip started flashing and he couldn't get it to do anything, said it was a complete defect. They are coming back to uninstall it and giving me a complete refund. The feautures on this dishwasher are nice, if they worked. The only positive thing I have to say about it is that it's the most beautiful appliance in it's class, and that's about it.

Save your frustrations and go with a different dishwasher.

1.0 out of 5 stars DO NOT TOUCH FRIGIDAIRE - PLD4555RFC, August 24, 2008

After more than 4 repairs, the dishwasher still does not work as it's suppose to. None of the service providers want to come and deal with this unit. I think I have been bounced back and forth between Electrolux and Service providers. Poor quality of the product and totally BAD customer service and satisfaction. I had service provider come to my home more then 4 times with the same result. The same parts were replaces more then 4 times - and still the same. And all Electrolux was saying that the dishwasher is fixes. It is fixes when it washes dishes which it does not. The problem started with the installation - the instructions DO NOT SAY that the dw needs to be installed at least 1 inch below the counter top. But this is what tech support demanded. The motherboard was replaced twice, the front panel 4 times, it was reinstalled twice - still it would work only for one-two cycles then would have to take a days (or more) rest before it can wash dishes again. The CANCEL button does not work at all, nor does the fluid censor. STAY AWAY from FRIGIDAIRE products.

We have had this dishwasher for a little over a year -- it came with the house we bought. Of that time, it has spent almost four months not working. The first time it broke, at six months, the LED control panel failed. They ordered replacement parts and it took TWO AND A HALF MONTHS to get the parts. Since it only comes with a one year warranty, I complained and said it was in their best interest to let the warranty run out and that they didn't really want to fix it. So, under duress, they gave me a six month "extension" on the warranty; however, it wasn't actually an extension, it was a "concession" -- which is something less than an extension.
The second time it broke, with the same blinking LED error codes, i had to spend four hours on the phone convincing them to honor their "consession". After a month, the parts were replaced.
A month later, it broke again, with the same blinking control board error. So now it has broken 3 times, with the same error. I will try to get them repair it. But I don't think they can actually fix it.
I WILL NEVER BUY A FRIGIDAIRE PRODUCT AGAIN!
Don't waste your money!

1.0 out of 5 stars Expensive drying rack, May 5, 2008
This review is from: Frigidaire PLD4375RFC PLD4375RFC Built-In Dishwasher
Well Amazon deleted my first review because i put the price i paid for this machine. It was a nice juicy review detailing my harrowing experiences with this product. I don't have the patience to write it again, but the dishwasher is so bad i feel compelled to at least get this negative review up here.

My unit (version "1".. as far as i know there are 0, 1, and 2) has never worked well and has suffered quite a few problems. Currently I have been waiting a month for a part to arrive from the frigidaire. These dishwashers have a recall out and their electronics need replacing. My first replacement parts were good for only one trouble-free washing, and it was still not a very good one. Latest problem: the start button doesn't do anything. I can select a cycle but i can't start it.

Only get this if you like to hand wash your dishes and need an under-the-counter drying rack
