This review is from: Frisbee Dogs:Throwing Video [VHS] (VHS Tape)
I give this video five stars for its patience, optimism, and overall entertainment value; though, I must admit, my ongoing attempts to teach my dog to catch a frisbee have been a pitiful disaster. The video is lucid, clear, and gives step by step instructions on the process--but I have not been able to get my dog to watch it for more than a few minutes at a time, and--in general--he seems to show no athletic aptitude whatsoever. For my past, I believe that I've done a fine job mastering the throwing technique, practicing mostly on my own after the kids are in bed and my work is done. But my dog, Rimbaud, couldn't be less interested, despite bribery and even peer pressure from other dogs. My wife feels that it's because he's a basset hound, and his short legs prevent him from running fast enough--but those are just the kinds of excuses that I never accepted from myself (as an untalented athlete) or from my players (when I briefly coached little league). The dog's problem is MENTAL, and it's possible that no video can address this, no matter how compelling. Bravo on a job well done, Mr. Bloeme; I'll continue to support and have faith in my pooch.
