Author Adelaide Zindler breaks new territory on pre-school child behavior and development. Her debut nonfiction book called "The frizzamyer Principle: Envisioning your family at its best!" is an eye-opener, as well as an enlightening treat for parents. The book comes at time of a nation wide pre-school crisis--with children being given various labels and administered drugs, or even being expelled from pre-school classes. The author opens up a new dialog and takes readers down a different path on how she looks at pre-school aged children.

The word "frizzamyer" was coined by the author to give a more compassionate and understanding name to how children express their unmet needs. Zindler's book is abundant with wholesome and sage advice on how to handle children but more importantly how to think about their behavior as a focus on their needs. She offers up many stories that validate and make her points. She does a good job educating the readers to what it is that she is espousing for parents to do.

The book has some thoughtful lists such as "Nine Tips For Family and Professional Success". The first three set the tone for what follows:

1. Be an optimist

2. Have a strong team that knows what you don't

3. Have beliefs that are strong enough to commit your life to.

She also has a list called "Seven Kinds of Smarts" and reminds us of how diverse our children's talents and abilities are. Some children being skilled verbally, or musically or have great interpersonal skills. The list just affirms that each of us have a different path and a different way to get through life.

The book is a must buy for all your families as well as grandparents and preschool care givers. There is a deep well of wisdom within its pages. This book receives the American Authors Association's highest book rating of FIVE STARS! It also receives my personal endorsement.

In it, Zindler helps us to see the various labels placed on young children with new eyes and understand that our children are crying out in response to unmet needs. She assists families to see how they can find and foster their own child's various geniuses. She demonstrates that it is the environment that is shaping the child and how a family can develop a goal-oriented plan for providing a healthy, nurturing environment that addresses the specific needs of their particular child. Through this breezy and enjoyable read, one can see clearly that nutrition and spirit are also important environmental influences that can be enhanced to foster positive outcomes. The Frizzamyer Principle should be a standard handbook for all those involved in preschool child care, as well as a standard book for parents to read --- realizing that there's still much more to consider after the birth and the baby care are done.
