3.0 out of 5 stars The Prince and the Princess lived happily ever after as frog
The Frog Prince and Princess were not getting along. The Princess said, "Why don't you turn back in to a frog. So the Prince ran out of the castle and tried to find a witch that would turn him into a frog, but there was no witch that had the right spell. Finally the Prince found a fairy godmother and she turned him into a carriage. At midnight the spell broke and...

So the Frog Prince decides to go out and find a witch to turn him back into a frog. This is a silly, irreverent story, told in hip language, with a wonderful twist at the end that will delight and amuse children of all ages. Steve Johnson's illustrations are marvelous and add just the right touch to compliment the story. Great fun for the entire family, The Frog Prince Continues is a story not to be missed.

5.0 out of 5 stars A fairy tale for all ages, November 28, 1999
With beautiful illustrations and a witty story, this book takes the phrase "happily ever after" and turns it into a fairy tale of its own. The frog prince, tired of his nagging wife, heads back into the forest to rediscover happiness. His encounters with witches from various legends bring him to the realization that he was better off at home.

This book makes a great gift for your significant other after you've had a fight.

5.0 out of 5 stars One of the most original books I've ever read!, December 23, 1996
By A Customer
It's 9PM. The kids are all bathed, jammied up, tucked in, and ready for their bedtime story. I've had a hard day and my powers of creative book selection are nonexistent. Do I go with critter books or Seuss? Neither - at least not since I found "The Frog Prince Continued" by Steve Johnson and Jon Scieszka. In what has to be one of the most original and entertaining books of any kind, the authors have managed to combine wacky graphics with wonderfully off-center fairy tale fragments to create a story that begs to read over and over. Ever since she kissed his "slimy frog lips", the Prince and Princess have been whining and nagging about married life and the poor Prince can see only one way out of the turmoil - to find a witch that can turn him back into a frog. His hilarious journey through all of fairy-tale witchdom in search of his amphibious ends simply begs to be supplied with your own creative voices. When he meets his match in the definitely blonde and ditzy godmother from Cinderella, his situation goes rapidly downhill. Does he live to hop another day? Will the princess take him back? The perfect happy ending will satisfy both you and your kids and will keep you reaching for this book time after time. If I had one wish, it would be for Steve and Jon to fracture another fairy tale in a so elegant and entertaining fashion

5.0 out of 5 stars Anyone thinking of getting a divorce should read this book., September 3, 1999

I was very entertained with this book. The message would not be one for children, but for adults that act like children. Anyone thinking of getting a divorce should read this book first. I got the message that the grass is always greener on the other side until you get to the other side.

5.0 out of 5 stars The funniest book ever!, May 1, 2000
By A Customer
It's exciting and funny and the illustrations are great! It's a good story for all ages. I am 8 years old and even though I love big books and "The Frog Prince Continued" is an easy book...it is GREAT! What people say about other books like "it's soggy at first" doesn't apply to this book. It just isn't the case with this book!

4.0 out of 5 stars What happens AFTER happily ever after, January 6, 2006
A Kid's Review
The Frog Prince, Continued

Written By: Jon Scieszka

"The Princess kissed the frog.

He turned into a prince,

And they lived happily ever after..."

Everyone knows the story of the frog prince, right? Princess kisses the frog, frog turns into prince, remember? The story continues in this fun picture book for kids. The frog prince is living with the beautiful princess, but they are far from living happily ever after. The princess and the prince are just too different. The prince wants to go down to the pond. The princess wants him to go out and slay a dragon. Complete opposites. So, one night, the prince decides to leave and find a witch that will turn him back into a frog.

The prince's journeys take him deep into the woods. After walking for a little while, he meets witch number one. He begs to be turned back into a frog. But the witch has other ideas. She said that since he is a prince, she must cast a nasty spell on him. After all, she doesn't want Sleeping Beauty to wake before her hundred years are up. But, before the witch can get a hold of him, the frog prince runs away, even deeper into the forest.

After having run for a little while longer, he spots a cottage. As you have probably guessed, witch number two is there. He begs the witch to turn him back into a frog. But the witch has other ideas. If he is a prince, he must eat a poison apple. After all, she doesn't want anyone rescuing Snow White. But before the witch can get a hold of him, he's off, running as fast as he can, ever deeper into the forest.

Running along the path, he comes to another cottage. And of course, outside, there is witch number three, outside gardening. Again, the prince begs to become a frog again. But the witch has other ideas. After all, she doesn't want to skip lunch (which consists of two little children). But before the witch can get a hold of him, the prince dashes off down the path, but this time, he was lost.

While walking down the forest path, he spies witch number four, who was changing pumpkins to carriages. The prince begs to become a frog, and for once, the witch gives it a try. With a wave of her wand the prince is transformed...into a carriage! The "carriage prince" runs... I mean rolls, even farther down the path. Just when he is beginning to despair of ever changing back into a human (he had long since given up on ever becoming a frog again), the clock strikes midnight, and to his great delight, he changed back into his human form.

Not wasting any time, the prince ran back to his castle, where the poor princess had been worrying herself sick. The prince looked at the princess, the only one who had believed him, the one who had actually kissed his slimy frog lips, the princess who loved him.

"The Prince kissed the Princess.

They both turned into frogs.

And they hopped off happily ever after."

THE END

This is the perfect book for early readers. Between the glossy illustrations and the captivating plot, there is no way a child (usually between the ages of 3-7) can't like this book. You and your child definitely don't want to miss out on this great reading experience.

5.0 out of 5 stars Makes a great wedding gift, July 28, 1998

The title speaks for itself. I always try to give a copy of FROG PRINCE CONTINUED to newlyweds. When the bloom is off the rose, it's a good book to have around.

I hate it when books leave you in suspense of what it left to happen. This book is a perfect example of what should be done to books. It gives you an update of what happens from the frog becomes a prince. I found it to be very good.

4.0 out of 5 stars I really liked this book, January 31, 2002
A Kid's Review
The book that I read was ok Because the story has a little bit of everthing like snow white and the gingerbread house. The frog prince is not happy living with the princess at first. she bugs him because he still acts like a frog. He jumps around and looks for witches to turn him back into a frog. At the end he realizes that he still loves the princess and they live happily ever after.

I liked this book because it has surpsises and I liked the artwork too. it had really strange pictures.

5.0 out of 5 stars Humorous and mocking, but still maintains a true fairy tale heart, September 12, 2008
This is totally up my fairy tale alley! I love the idea of the continuation of the fairy tale and I love just how real and likeable the poor Frog Prince came. This book has many fairy tale references mixed with pop culture that are just hilarious, and yet there is plenty of heart and a very sweet message.
