I loved the film! Great acting jobs... Especially Miss Katie a very talented young girl. Katie had me nearly in tears during one scene where she is bound in the back seat of the car. Very believable character!

I saw this first at the Peachtree Film Festival in Atlanta. I have been checking frequently for its video release. Definitely a classic! It portrays the varied lives of a pre-teen girls within a very clever, funny, insightful story. I understand that this is a first for Ms. Agard who wrote the screenplay in addition to directing the movie. She clearly has a talent for inspiring young actors to give their best. They were all a delight. I especially enjoyed the freshness and dry wit of Wombat played by Emily Lipoma. PS As an educator, as well as a movie lover, I plan to use this as a teaching tool. Kudos to all involved. A must see, in my opinion.

I happened upon this delightful film in late December 1999 when it premiered on the HBO Family Channel. Kudos to Agard on creating a hip, slightly noirish, teen romp! I find myself watching it whenever I can! THIS IS A MUST HAVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Frog and Wombat is a movie aimed at kids who are just pre-adolescent or young adolescents. It has a good bit worthwhile about it--a girls-bonding theme presented in the context of solving a mystery. The movie has some comic moments, generally fine acting, and, if rated, would fall somewhere between a "hard" G rating and a "very soft" PG rating. If you feel that your kids missed out on the "small theme" films which seemed to be present for kids in abundance in the 1960s, and seem to have wholly given way to big-budget, big special effects films in the 00s, then you might check out Frog and Wombat, a quirky little modern indy film that reminds me of those low-budget 60s family comedies. It's not "laugh out loud" funny, but it's a perfectly enjoyable afternoon with the VCR.

If you haven't seen this thrilling movie you're in for something spectacular. Frog and Wombat, filmed in Capitola a small town by Santa Cruz is a movie just right for adventureus girls who want to prove that girls aren't useless. Once you see it you probably will go off begging for more. It's adventurous, exciting, has a good moral and it has GREAT plot.

I think that this movie truly portraid the lives of these two 12-year old girls, Allie(walkie-talkie cover, Frog) and Jane (walkie-talkie cover Wombat). Hey! If your're a 12-year old girl just starting sixth grade, you've got one weird, new principal, a cute guy moves in, an army brat is looking for a new best friend, AND your friendship is on the rocks with your baby-chum/ best friend, "Frog and Wombat" is what happens! Wombat was wwwwwwwwaaaaaayyyyyyyyy funny!!!!!!!!!!

When I saw this amazing film, it was a real gift for me. The astonishing story of two 12-year old detectives,-(Frog and Wombat being their walkie-talkie names-)who suspect that their school principle has murdered his "niece".The movie strongly captivates a two preteen girl's lives with struggles of friendship, crushes, humor, and bravery. YOU MUST SEE THIS MOVIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This movie was very exciting , there was never a dull moment. I really liked the way that the two girls were so different. I glad that lots of differnt people were able to see this movie around the world. The princail was a extrimly great actor. I think all the actors would have to be specail people to be able to all work together to make it work. Well it did and the movie was great!

It was a lot of fun to see this movie at it's premiere in the Nickelodeon Theatre in Santa Cruz (the county where the film was made) with most of the cast and crew. Two of my sons and I were "extras" in the movie and had a great time meeting everyone and learning what goes on behind the scenes. Both Katie and Emily have a lot of potential to become stars, especially Katie Stuart. Contratulations to Laurie Agard and everyone at Pigtail Productions. They sure know how to make a movie!!!
