Does the Classic some justice,

Like the other new versions of Frogger (the ones for PC), the game starts deceptivily simple and then gets more challanging as you progress. The animation of the "story" isn't too bad, though the dialouge is VERY bad. Luckily, you can skip the story by pressing start. The idea of the game is to go through all of the levels in different worlds as Frogger goes through a "rite of passage". I LOVED the ORIGINAL (classic) Frogger (I do have some memories of playing it on Atari when I was pretty young) and I enjoy the first PC version. Frogger Beyond does some justice to both of these. The themes for the worlds are similair to the first PC version, but you will not hop around looking for baby frogs. I have not seen any cars to avoid in the game yet, but I have seen bugs to avoid and they remind me of the "traffic" in the orignial and PC versions. There are logs, lilypads and other moving objects to travel on as you move past each level. The game does not have the best graphics I've seen on Gamecube, but they're not bad. Overall, I'd say that Frogger Beyond, like the other versions I've played, is "just tricky enough to be addicting." If you like the other versions of Frogger, you'll probably enjoy this one as well. If you're not sure, then rent it first (though I think once you play it you'll be hooked).

An average attempt to modernize a classic.,
This review is from: Frogger Beyond (Video Game)
"Frogger Beyond" consists of 7 main worlds, each of which contains 3 levels plus a boss. There is also a much smaller eighth world. There is no level boss and it almost seems like it was tacked onto the end of the game without any purpose. The gameplay? Exactly what you'd expect from this game. You spend a majority of the time watching your enemies. They move around in precise patterns and you have to figure out when and where it is safe to jump. It's not exactly stimulating but it remains close to the original "Frogger" by keeping a basic strategy. Other reviewers have mentioned the camera problem. It definitely is a nuisance. You cannot change the camera angle and you will die many times because you can't see exactly where you are jumping. The difficulty of each level varies wildly from easy to quite challenging. Gamers who aren't patient will hate this game. As stated before, you will spend a good chunk of time observing patterns of movement and many kids will get frustrated. Frogger gets to occasionally ride on a snowboard and a mine cart in an attempt to spice up the gameplay a little bit. "Frogger Beyond" won't win any awards for originality but it serves its purpose well enough. If you have a bit of nostalgia for the little froggy and you enjoy basic platform games then you might want to give this title a try. If you're looking for a more expansive game or something for kids then you'll probably end up disappointed with this one.

This 'Frogger Beyond' game would be SOOOO much better if you could contrtol the camera, but alas, you cannot.
Many many times you end up jumping off the board, jumping to a place you didn't want to jump to, but you could swear the floor continues... Well, bottom line, this COULD be a fun and difficult puzzle game, but instead it's just frustrating and not worth my time. I don't like not being able to see what I'm doing. (i also don't like the Resident Evil games where you walk around "blind" corners right into enemies.) Nice try...

The game is good and offers hours of entertainment. It can be played on the Wii, but it still requires that you use a GameCube controller. (You can only use the D-Pad, which was less than well designed for the GameCube). Buttons on the controller often get "sticky" with use and cause Frogger to do unwanted things that almost always end in death.

I really enjoyed the Atari Frogger so I thought I would try this one. I like it a lot. I am 67 and don't enjoy all the shoot-em up games. Since it is an old one I haven't been able to find a book or walkthrough for it so I just have to keep trying to find the right way to get into the next level. It is fun and would be great for the kids.

in the first 3 minutes you see a frog representing a small kid that goes on an adventure dodging buses and doing stuff any normal frog will do, but first it it is summoned by a mysterious frog council from hell that makes him do this stuff for no good reason. This game has horrible views and controls and should not be played by kids, only because kids will want to break this game and throw it out a window.
I'm NOT kidding

IT STINKS
ok imagine this you have a stupidly dressed frog acting 6 year old trying to be cool by SAying totally awsom man. and it is has atempted money maker written over it more clearly than PS2 becuase the controles are so horible that i was ready to put my foot through my tv. any way the game only use the D pad and has the most anoying music. not only that but even if it was made for little kids im 13 and i cant beat the 2nd set of levels it is so frustrating because bad camera and somtimes the floor dosent seem to be there so ure not sure what to do or where to go and fall of an edge. not to mention that the enemys are all ants bees and grass hoppers and whatnot so if you want a game that was made in the name of frogger JUST to make money and that is VERY FRUSTRATING and pointless get this by the way im happy to say that i dident buy this with my money my parents got it seeing a famous classic that they loved and thought would be a greAt game for me Suggested uses: Give to someone you HATE to frustrate them Frisbee YAY much more quality fun if this game causes to much stress may i suggest destroying it or putting in the microwave and watching it burn HAHAHAHAHA

These games are terrible. Frogger is better left in bars on the old arcade machine.

It might be cool,

Ok, i think this game will only be worth 3 or 3 1/2 stars, but I must give Konami some justice from the other reviewer who said the game [was weak] because Frogger didnt look cool. I mean, does Mario look like he is the newest fashion, NO. But his games are top notch. Frogger Beyond will proably be a normal platformer that will be great for kids 10 and below. I am thirtenn and probably not goin to buy it. However, if yur a grandma and yur young grand kid has a Gamecube, this might make a good gift that kid.
