About the Author

Jonathan London is the creator of twenty-three books about lovable and enduringly popular Froggy. He is also a poet and a novelist. Jonathan and his wife live in Graton, California.

More About the Author

I was raised a Navy Brat and moved every two or three years when I was growing up. Now I live in one place and travel to lots of other places. I started writing poems in college, got a M.A. in History, performed in a modern dance company, traveled the world, got married, had two sons, and when I started telling my boys, Aaron and Sean, stories I realized that I could write for children. My first two books came out in the same week, in 1992, THIRTEEN MOONS ON TURTLE'S BACK and THE LION WHO HAD ASTHMA, soon followed by FROGGY GETS DRESSED. These books are still in print. FROGGY GETS DRESSED was the first of over twenty Froggy books. The most recent one is FROGGY GOES TO HAWAII. In October 2011 FROGGY BUILDS A TREE HOUSE will be published. The next one will be FROGGY GOES TO HAWAII. My Froggy books are silly and little kids like them. But I also write other kinds of books, including wildlife books. My first wildlife book was THE EYES OF GRAY WOLF. Most recent one is LITTLE SWAN. In October 2011 LITTLE PENGUIN: THE EMPEROR OF ANTARCTICA will come out. I've published around 100 books since 1992, but now I only write poems for myself. My sons and my wife, Maureen, are my constant inspirations. But I'm also inspired by young children, dogs, mountains, rivers, stars, trees, great cities, deserts, jungles, great food, dance, art, some sports, and the moon. And if anybody asks, Froggy c'est moi--but he's also Aaron and Sean, and every kid I've ever met. Flop flop flop!

Froggy is a good character for my son to identify with. My son is almost 4 and thinks Froggy is the coolest. When i ask him what he wants for breakfast, he now wants "a bowl of flies" just like Froggy has. For him, it's Raisin Bran. I have now 6 Froggy books to our collection and a bunch more are available at our library so this author has definately got an audience.

This is a cute book and a fun book to have for beginner readers -- as well as a fun book to read to those learning to ride a bike.

This is a story about a frog who learns to ride a bike. His father helps him and although he falls off the first time, Froggy gets back on and tries again. It has humor and cute illustrations. The Froggy series are one of my favorite collections.

We have gone to our local library and checked out a few books from this collection. It is becoming a family favorite, so we bought this one for our home library. Froggy is becoming another great bedtime story. Terrific illustration and well written story which engages young minds into a great world of imagination and adventures!

Santa brought my 4-year old several Froggy books this year and each one is a treat to read. In this book, Froggy learns to ride his bike without support, something my 4 year old will be doing this spring. The book came promptly and fully met my expectations.

I have bought and read every Froggy book to my 4 year old grandson. They appeal to boys in my opinion although my 6 year old granddaughter likes them too. They are funny, creative, and little boys can relate to Froggy's adventures. They are simple and sweet. My grandson is beginning to recognize site words from the repetition that these books offer. I say Froooogggy! and he immediately answers "whaaaat!" Reading is a lot of fun!

Children are sure to relate to Froggy's forgetfulness, impatience, and fears. His adventures are wonderful. The repetitive text and funny sounds will encourage readers who are sure to be attracted to the hilariously expressive illustrations. I love these books!!!

My grandson can't get enough of the Froggy books. They are entertaining and deliver a message. Good entertainment for a five year old.
