Frogs Are Funny!: The Most Sensational, Inspirational, Celebrational, Muppetational Muppets Joke Book EVER!

In the movie, THE MUPPETS Walter tells Kermit that The Muppets give people the third greatest gift of all, laughter. The comedy of The Muppets is classical comedy. By that, I mean it's a comedy that works on several different levels and is full of wit and is in the tradition of vaudeville, radio, and the golden days of tv. There isn't much comedy like the comedy The Muppets do anymore and that's a shame.

FROGS ARE FUNNY! is marketed as being a joke book, but it's not a typical joke book. Instead, it's a collection of jokes from episodes of THE MUPPET SHOW and some of the Muppet movies. Instead of quotes and citations, there are pictures of the characters involved with the joke or prank next to their joke. For example, on one page is a picture of Kermit with the quote, "A tap-dancing chicken act? Gonzo, I've never heard of anything as ridiculous as a dancing chicken," and on the next page is a picture of Gonzo saying in reply, "How about a talking frog?"

The end of the book has an index that tells where each of the quotes comes from as well as Muppetational Book Fact that tells the number of jokes in the book told by each Muppet. Fozzy gets the most jokes with 35.

The only major negative thing about the book is that the sources for the material are limited to the first three seasons of THE MUPPET SHOW and the Disney distributed Muppet films. The reason for this is that seasons four & five of THE MUPPET SHOW have yet to be released on DVD and THE MUPPETS TAKE MANHATTAN and MUPPETS FROM SPACE are Muppet films not completely owned by Disney.

FORGS ARE FUNNY! makes a nice little gift book for any Muppet fan. It'll bring back memories for older Muppet fans and perhaps introduce younger or newer Muppet fans to come of the classic and witty humor of The Muppets.

Just like a good, warm soup on a winter day can warm the body, Brandon Snider's book is comfort food for the funny bone. A collection of the best jokes from Muppet shows and movies, Frogs Are Funny, brings a smile to the face and warmth to the heart. If you, or someone you care about, has fond memories of those puppets that brought us all so many good times, you will love this book. But a copy for yourself, and others for friends as you all prepare to share a trip down memory lane, and know that you will feel better for having done it!

So thrilled The Muppets are back as my daughter and I are huge fans due to our DVD collection of The Best of The Muppet Show. She loves this book; it's cute and colorful and silly.

Bought this as a gift for a Muppet Lover and it is perfect. Very funny excerpts...any muppet lover will enjoy this!

Love the jokes and the graphic design layout. Great for adults and kids. We love reading it together. We handed these out as gifts at a party and they were a huge hit. I think I'll keep some around to use for gifts through out the year!
