Although this is an older cd by John Hammond it still sounds better than the majority of the blues music being released today. He is the only white bluesman who can truly capture the essence of the blues. It is unfortunate that John Lee Hooker and J.H only team up for one song and it is not on this cd. The man is an underrated guitarist, vocalist and all around musician. If you love the blues pick up a John Hammond cd today. He has recored throughout his career every song Robert Johnson recorded and improved all of them. Clapton's tribute to R.J. is good (probaly his best since his very first solo album) but his versions don't stack up to John's.
