By A Customer
This review is from: Frogtown (Hardcover)
Earthy and realistic, this novel has all the elements to keep the reader interested page after page. Written by a veteran law enforcement officer adds a depth to the story making it all the more fascinating. Seldom does one get to enter the complex world of cops on the street with such insight. Hard to put down.

5.0 out of 5 stars Written for the Reader!, December 27, 2003

This review is from: Frogtown (Paperback)
Frogtown is one of those books that is hard to put down. The author, a retired beat cop in a major northern United States city really knows his stuff. Although the book is fiction, the picture painted by LeMay is vivid and factual. The reader receives a rare glimpse into the mutually beneficial relationship between the prostitutes and law enforcement. The ending is a surpise and you instantly relate to the characters both negatively and positively. Welcome to a world where good and evil isn't so black and white. Struggle with the hard moral issues and judgment calls cops must make every day. While police story writers like Wambaugh seek to impress the reader with themselves in my opinion, LeMay seeks to make the story come alive in what is probably the most vivid journey into the underworld you'll ever take. You won't regret buying this book and you'll read it late into the night!
