This toy literally broke within the first 2 minutes of my cat playing with it.

The dangling string comes out of the magnetic base, and then about an inch or so after it comes out it has a metal part which can be used to attach new string.

My cat isn't de-clawed, but I do keep his nails trim and blunt, yet he was able to slice though the cheap string that holds the ball/bell to the magnet.

I bought this toy at a store and was excited about it. The 2 sides house a strongmagnet, so you can "hang" it from any surface that is not thicker than 2 inches (by my trials). I set ours up on the dining room table and our cat went right under to play with it. He seemed to like the toy, but then he got his front arm tangled in the line and freaked out. He went running wildly, the toy trailing on the line. I was chasing to get him, fearful that if the line tangled on something it would rip his arm off. I managed to catch up to him and untangled him from the toy. He is now terrified of the thing, so I gave i to a friend.

My suggestion is that if you get this, make sure to NEVER leave it out when you are not near by. The toy is reall not bad, but needs a good warning on the box saying to NEVR leave it out with you away.

When I received the toy in the mail, I was excited to see how my cat would react to the toy. She loves Da Bird, so I wanted a toy with feathers on it to entertain her when I was busy. My cat took to the toy pretty quickly. She played that night for an hour, off and on. Before going to bed, I put the toy away, afraid that she might get entangled with the elastic band if I left it out all night. The next night, I took the toy out again. About 15 minutes of play, the bottom magnet broke free and smacked her in the chest or stomach. It freaked her out and she took off running, with the elastic band strung around her leg and she dragged the magnet and feathered ball with her into the kitchen. It must've really hurt her, because even after 3 weeks, she was still afraid to go close to the feathered ball. Eventually, I threw that away as well.

My cats love this toy. We first used it on my glass table, but moved it to a permanent spot on a living room table. I was sure the feathers were going to be destroyed as my cats are chewers, but was pleasantly surprised it is still going strong. They like to chase it as I move it across the table or tug on it while suspended from the table. The magnet is super strong, no fear of coming apart. They are intrigued by the colorful top handle too.

While this toy seems to occupy my cat's time, it only lasts about 2 minutes. My cat hasn't been de-clawed and while I keep his nails short, they still get caught on the ball that dangles (which is made of scratching post material). Once his nail(s) gets caught, it's over; he has pulled the entire bottom half off of the magnet and playing time is over. He's even pulled it down so hard once, that I think it's broken already.

It's a great idea for a toy, but I would have liked for the material to be different.

I'm fairly certain my cat would declare this the best toy ever; nine months later, she's still playing with it as frequently as she did when she got. Typically my cat loses interest after a month or ignores a toy for a long time before regaining interest, so the fact that she continues to play with this is remarkable. I have it suspended from a glass-top coffee table; it hasn't damaged the table and the magnet is strong enough that my cat can't push it off from the top (which she frequently tries to do). The ball and feather have held up well. The bell that's also attached does well to attract my cat's attention when she brushes past. She'll stop and play for a bit before continuing on to her seat in the nearby windowsill.

My cat managed to break the FroliCat Sway MT1 Toy within a few days of receiving it. She managed to pull the string right out of the top of the ball, no problem...

I love the idea behind this toy, but it is cheaply made. My cat isn't de-clawed, but I do keep his nails trim and blunt, yet he was able to slice though the cheap string that holds the ball/bell to the magnet. I was very sad and so was Jazz, the ball toy hit him on his head, so now he won't play with it at all.

The string broke within the first 24 hours. I wish I would have had the foresight to wrap the string in some military 550 cord. But then I have to wonder if the cat would still play with it. It might be too thick. I don't know. Don't waste money on this. Cool concept. But obviously the designers don't understand that cats have teeth as well as feet, and are most likely gonna bite the string as well as bat the little ball.
