Editorial Reviews

2013 sophomore album from the Charlotte, NC-based Alt-Rock band. The 10-track effort was recorded at Salad Days Studios in Baltimore, MD with producer Brian McTernan (Circa Survive, Senses Fail). Effortlessly encompassing the impressive technical qualities of underground progressive-rock and experimental outfits, HRVRD creates haunting orchestrations of sound through a flawless balance of intricate and cinematic guitar riffs, over dark, passionate lyrics and powerful, driving rhythms; A seamless fusion of dreamlike ambience and catchy, yet sonically sinister melodies.

I love this band, their music is great and I really like supporting a local band. I can't say enough good things about them. Incredibly talented and look forward to hearing more from them.

As a fan of The Inevitable and I, this album is definitely more sophisticated musically. The band is growing in some very academic ways, the beauty of this album is most likely captured better live.

This album was good and what I expected from Harvard. That is where I find the fault of this album. The first album was great and the second showed progress, but Bird's Cage felt stationary, no depth. Still great music, just predictable.

So I came across this band by chance and chance alone when browsing YouTube for music and I listened to a few songs and thought it would be worth it to give these guys a go and try their album out. Its not the best music and its not bad either, it has its gems but they are few. I think they missed the mark when trying to hit a great album but all in all its not bad. Sorry guys, but I will say I do love the tracks: Cardboard Houses, Eva Brücke and Futurist.
