Editorial Reviews

The general balance and atmosphere of 'From The Moon...' is very reminiscent of Kip Winger's previous solo albums. A highly textured, harmonious tapestry of sounds and influences from his own pop/rock sensibilities to Middle Eastern flavors as heard in th

Very smooth sounding, laid-back disc. If you've enjoyed Kip's solo output, which tends to be more experimental and acoustic, you will enjoy this collection of songs. This CD includes collaborations with Cenk Eroglu, who contributed to IV, the Winger reunion/comeback album. Rod Morgenstein also makes a guest appearance on a track (Reason To Believe). What I dig about this CD is that the music is not overdone or over-the-top, and there is plenty of variety from song to song to keep you listening straight through.

If you're looking to rock out to more of the full-on band work, then pick up IV, which is a great CD onto itself, and their live double-disc.

This is one of the best cd's I have heard in along time.I bought this cd two weeks ago. I'm an old school Winger fan, and I can't stop listening to this! I like solo Kip alot, but this cd shows all of Kip's talents on one cd. The sound on this cd is so far removed from other Kip cd's. But, then again it sounds familar. If you sort of like Winger , do yourself a favor, and buy this cd! You will play it over and over...

After a long hiatus w/ his solo work Kip Winger returns w/ an extensive body of work that includes everything from straight up heavy & dark (1 song) to absolutely soft & beautiful (including what sounds to be a choir in the last song!) Anything you've heard from Kip before you will definitely hear here & more. Great stuff!

Kip Winger releases his third solo cd, only after eight years since "Songs From the Ocean Floor". No, matter. He did release IV with Winger so I'll give him a break. Once again, Kip delivers as he has on his previous outings. If you're only familiar with Winger and their music, it would benefit you to check out his three solo releases. A little bit different, and probably a lot more introspective, but definitely worth it. I wouldn't say that there's a bad track here, just a mix. An instrumental (Ghosts) is thrown in, but a very slow and soft instrumental. But don't let that detract you from picking this cd up. One thing I've noticed with his solo releases is that they might be hard to find and then only as imports which can be quite pricey. I picked up this one as a download (if you're not interested in the cd then this is a great site with exceptional prices) at gomusic.ru for $1.76 and it contains a remix of 'Monster'. Overall, a great album that rivals anything out there in the rock world. Unfortunately, I don't think there will be too much mainstream play on this which is a shame because it would put other groups to shame.

Musician Kip Winger presents his latest album From the Moon to the Sun, a vibrant collection of original pop/rock songs with Middle Eastern influences. Percussion teacher Rod Morgenstein and guitarist Andy Timmons also contribute their talent to several tracks. The pulsing, almost hypnotic rhythms captivate the listener in this unique and original album, enthusiastically recommended for anyone eager to listen to something new. Highly recommended. The tracks are "Every Story Told", "Nothing", "Where Will You Go", "Pages and Pages", "Ghosts", "In Your Eyes Another Life", "Runaway", "California", "What We Are", "One Big Game", "Why", "Reason to Believe", and "Holy Man". 53 minutes.

Kips best solo album yet. Man, between this and Winger, Kip has never sounded better. And to think I thought he was in his prime on the first winger album! Everything he does kicks ass

This is by far the best CD by Kip yet. The music is smooth, yet sometimes edgy like "Nothing" to the haunting melody of "Ghosts". This is not the Winger sound that everyone is used to, but this shows a mature side to Kip and his growth in song writing. Very sophisticated.

What can I say this man has an amazing amount of talent, more than I could imagine, the songs on this album are not only mature and have some depth, but the production and emotion comes out like I never imagined from Kip, If you enjoy well constructed Melodic soft/hard rock this is a Must have in your collection, Winger is a great band, but this solo album by Kip is alot deeper than that. Every song had amazing textures and feeling to them, yes it's a little mellow, but well written and composed. I can hear the influences of the Beatles in some of the songs. CXheck out the samples, I say give it a try one of the best albums in the last few years to come out.
