Product Description

Introducing the Singing Saxstress: Ava Lemert. From My Soul is the smash debut of a unique talent who's star is just starting to shine in a often dull and predictable pop-jazz landscape. While she is pictured with one of her horns, what really sets Ms. Lemert apart is the surprising power of her vocals and songwriting abilities. There is only one cover tune which is a fun contemporary R&B remake of the early Wham U.K. song "Nothing Looks the Same in the Light." The nine tracks are an intricate and varied blend of classic soul, tear the roof off funk, fresh urban originals and a smattering of contemporary jazz. Ava's keen ear for harmonies that combine both her seductive vocals and smooth saxophones is fortified by her abilities at penning sweet hooks and fresh arrangements into passionate funky music that smooths and soothes with raw emotion, power and overflowing soul.

Ava Lemert: Sacramento's indie soul jazz saxophone spectacular If you dig soul jazz, if the saxophone makes you shake, if you swoon to a chanteuse, Ava Lemert is the indie musician to catch. With a new CD available and a variety of videos and singles available online, independent music's rich tapestry in Sacramento is held together with the original threads of deep soul and jazz. She is a songwriter and vocalist who plays the alto and tenor sax with a soulful and uplifting finesse and has been releasing singles, recording videos and promoting her music online. Although the new album, "From My Soul" is available now through her website, she will be having a CD Release Party at Simplie Indie in Rocklin on December 15. She recently played at Arco Arena, performing "The Star Spangled Banner" for the fans during the pre-game festivities. Anyone who enjoys music that thrills, original lyrics, traditional soul and jazz, sultry saxophone and seductive vocals should catch Ava Lemert, one of Sacramento's rising stars. You can hear Ava's music and connect with her on Myspace, Facebook or catch her tweets on Twitter. She also has videos on Youtube and a number of singles on ReverbNation. GREAT !!!! found by serendipity ... listened to the preview ... and from one moment to the other ... fallen in love with this fascinating voice and great sax tracks ... now I've ordered it and playing the whole time in the background while working on my pc ... and the music this great artist inspires and helps me doing my work in a mystical way Thanks AVA for gibing me the chance to make this great experience! --Ernesto, CD Baby customer

What an awesome CD. On each track you can hear her passion and love for Jazz and Blues. Her voice can melt you one moment and make you take notice the next. Her sax playing has a style all its own. All her emotions come out when she plays. You can hear that this CD came from her heart. You just aren't listening to words and notes, you are listening to a story, a story that I can listen to again and again and again. Awesome job, Ava!! --Dan H., CD review

This is a wonderful and great release from Ava Lemmert! Her eclectic style of Rythmn and Blues coupled with Jazz have really provided some great sounds for these great genre of music. It is deeply from her heart and soul just as the title says "From My Soul". Truly American music form our deep roots of Jazz and R&B. My wife and I love the sultry singing and great Saxophone solos! Agreat mix and wonderful for the listening ear.
This is definitely a 5 star rating and I encourage any one wanting to listen to music especially Jazz and R&B it is great. I found to be uplifting in beat and great all around listening.
The Tag selections would be all actually so I will pick the best I think it covers.

From My Soul This Cd. is a fantastic piece of Musical Brilliance. Eva's voice conjures memories when artist truly created from their hearts and not prefabricated formulas. Her vocals are mesmerizing and her sax playing is from the gut and soul as the Title states. track 3 Rhodelea is my Favorite. I dare anyone to not be enchanted by this song. Her challenge to us in the I wanna Funk it up will not let you remain still. You will not be dissapointed with this Artist. This is the first review That I have ever made on Amazon. This is how much I love this C.D. Check it out. Guy

The moment you start to listen to Ava's new album you are immediately taken back to a time when soul music was at it's best, the silky smooth vocals of Ava and her wonderful sax playin' really oooze quality. "soft & silky" is a fave as is "that 70s girl" with its groovy rhythm and smooth sax, "Rhodelea" also hits the spot and "you know you got it" is a perfect track to start the album with wonderful vocals from Ava. I Would recommend this cd to all lovers of quality soul & smooth jazz and look forward to hearing future projects from this very Talented Lady.
