Book Description

For Prince Liam, families meant bad news, unwanted commitments, and the loss of his personal freedom. Love spawned white picket fences, slippers at the hearth with a wife and kids making demands, so why did those images disappear when he met Melanie Babcot?

Melanie Babcot fought hard to escape the horrors of her youth and vowed to remain single and free, so when paid to protect Prince Liam from insurgents why did her personal pledge fly out the window?

A delicious romance between the hunky Liam and the sassy independent heroine. Add in the spice of a great suspense and you've got the recipe for an excellent read.

4.0 out of 5 stars Royal twist on 'Mr and Mrs Smith' November 30, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
From Now Until Forever by Sherry Gloag starts out with a bang. We are thrust immediately into the middle of a gun-fight/ stake out at a horse ranch where the main character, Liam Fitzwilliam Gasquet, has been caught in the cross fire. Liam, who is actually the crown prince of a small, independent European country, has been living under an alias for several years in an effort to escape the demands of his royal heritage. During that time he met and married Melanie, owner of the ranch. Little did he know that Melanie was actually in the employ of his own government's secret service, hired as a personal bodyguard to keep him safe. When the truth comes out, both feel betrayed. But immediate danger continues as insurgents are determined to kill Liam. Will they survive and will their love for one another be enough once the dust has settled? There is lots of action and intrigue in this one so hang on for the ride.

4.0 out of 5 stars Is This A Marriage Made In Heaven? April 18, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
I was making comparisons about the slightly rebellious, fictional characters in this book and the real-life characters which they might so easily depict, from just reading the synposis and without evening turning the first page.

I was worried that a book of some notional 90 pages, might well be insufficient to do the story justice. However, by the end of the book, I was pleasingly assured that Sherry had got this one just about spot on for length and content detail. She has ably managed to maintain the fine balance of an eye-catching beginning, a strong central storyline and an ending, which although could be construed as slightly inconclusive, had done its job of getting the message across to the reader, in an accomplished and polished piece of writing. If I were to highlight the one weak point in the storyline, then it would be the issue I would have with Liam never recognising Melanie when they met, even though she had been shadowing him for three years as his bodyguard. If she were that stunning, surely he would have noticed her and that she seemed to appear everywhere that he did?

The romance and marriage between Liam and Melanie wouldn't at first glance appear to be a `match made in heaven' and begged the question, was this a marriage based on lies or love? It was certainly a relationship which thrived on action and adventure, as the plot move along at a breakneck pace, complete with its unexpected twists and turns along the way, together with plenty of tension and an ongoing battle of wills between the young couple.

The characters developed and grew in strength and as the story progressed, with a new found maturity and mutual support underpinning their relationship.

From Now Until Forever by Sherry Gloag is a contemporary romance that blends the old school and the new. The heroine is very much a product of the here-and-now, but the plot belongs to an earlier time. It almost works.

The story begins with Liam Fitzwilliam Gasquet being shot at. At first, he thinks it's just some trigger-happy idiots out in the woods, but then he comes to the reluctant conclusion that the insurgents trying to oust his father from the throne of their pocket-sized country on the Swiss border have finally found him. Liam has been travelling around the world for three years, trying to stay under the radar, and he's finally been found. Since Liam is the third son, he's been vainly hoping that his attempts to remain anonymous have been successful. It's suddenly and painfully obvious to him that they haven't.

Liam is in Scotland, and has been running a riding school for disabled children with his wife, Melanie, for the last six months. He thinks that Melanie doesn't know he's a prince. He doesn't know that Melanie is the head of his security detail. She tailed him all over Europe. When he spotted her in a restaurant, the instant chemistry between them derailed both his normal "love 'em and leave 'em" nature and her duty to remain in the shadows.

When the bullets start flying and they have to escape their formerly secure home, the life they have built together falls apart. When the lies come crashing down, the walls come up between them. But can they find a way to be together, when everything they thought they had was built on deceit?

And will they live long enough to find out?

Escape Rating C+: I have mixed feelings about this book. I liked the characters. Melanie and Liam are both interesting people.

5.0 out of 5 stars Love Endures February 27, 2012
By Stewart
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
From Now Until Forever

Liam Fitzwilliam Gasquet, the youngest son of the King of a small European realm, argues with his parents and leaves home. In a snit, he travels throughout Europe and ends up in the British Isles, where he meets Melanie.

In the action packed opening scenes, an assassin attempts to kill Liam at the farm, where he works with horses. He'd applied for the job without announcing he was a prince-in-hiding.

Melanie, now his wife, returns fire and saves Liam's life. Unbeknownst to him, she is a member of the Palace security force. She calls for backup, and other security agents get them away from the farm and to a safe house.

During the escape from the farm the villains injure Melanie. The secrets Melanie and Liam withheld from each other causes Liam to doubt Melanie's reason for marrying him. Then Melanie doubts his love for her.

The head of security learns that the location of the safe house has been compromised. They move Liam to safety.

With the help of Paxman, the head of security, and members of the royal family, the pair resolve their problems. Love for one another keeps them together.

Well-written with lovely wording Liam and Melanie found places in my heart. Horse lovers will appreciate the couple's dedication to their horses.
