About the Author
Veteran travel writers Darwin Porter and Danforth Prince have written numerous best-selling Frommer’s guides, notably to Germany, France, Italy, England, and Spain. Porter was bureau chief for the Miami Herald when he was 21. Prince, who began writing with Porter in 1982, worked for the Paris bureau of the New York Times. Together, they wrote and researched the first-ever Frommer’s guide to Austria. As frequent travelers to this alpine country, they know their destination well.

Should have spent more time reading the book before the trip. Some helpful preparation tips. Had some great info and descriptions. The book is separated into geographic regions. If you are headed to a small town (as we were) it is more difficult to figure out which part of the book to refer to. Great for bigger cities and tourist destinations.

As for the other locations, the Frommer's Austria is an excellent guide for a traveller. It is candid, helpful, and informative. I especially appreciated the descriptions of the attractions in Vienna.
