Comprehensive, informative guide to England, April 25, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Frommer's England 2000 (Frommer's Complete Guides) (Paperback)
Most travel guides to Britain suffer from one of two drawbacks: either they cover too little {London and its environs} or they cover too much {Scotland and Wales as well as England}. This guide focuses exclusively on England {including generous coverage of London} and is thus ideal for those planning a genuinely English trip that includes cities and towns outside London as well as the countryside. It provides essential information {such as hours, prices, phone numbers, and accepted credit cards} and helpful reviews of many sites, accommodations, and restauraunts. Light on pictures but heavy on utility, it is organized according to region and has an exceptionally detailed index. Paricularly helpful are the sections on planning a trip and the online direcrory. Although I have been to England several times already, I still found this guide to be helpful in planning my upcoming trip--and I plan to take it with me!
