About the Author Michael Spring is the publisher of Macmillan Travel. In former lives, he was the editorial director at Fodor's, the travel expert on the CNN Travel Show, and host of WNCN's (New York) "Mike Spring on Travel." His books include The Great Weekend Escape Book (Dutton), The American Way of Working (Bantam), and A Student's Guide to Julius Caesar. Though he spends most of his life these days orchestrating other people's adventures, he has never lost his lust for travel.

A friend of mine loaned this book to me to read since I have been considering a driving tour of Europe. I am going to order my own copy now because after reading the book, I am now confident enough to actually make the trip. My copy will go with me to guide me through the areas I want to see. As usual Frommer gives you the ins and outs so if you are thinking of making the trip, this book is a must. See you in Europe!

Wherever I go I use Fodors guides. I was planning a driving vacation in Europe and found that this book covered the same territory as the Fodors and Fodors is always my first choice.
