This book like all of the other Frommer's books tell you all about the city that's on the title page. This book tells you all the great sites, hotels, museums, restuarants, etc in Los Angeles. But however the opinions in this book are pretty biased. There are some recommendations based on the author's own preferences but you may not agree with them though. It's a good travel book but I also say buy others to see what they say about the places mentioned. Also, be warned some of the prices are somewhat off, and I know that's in part because of the time this book was published so take all of them with a grain of salt and look up the places before you go to see the actual prices instead of going by the ones in this book.

Frommer's guide books are the best all around travel guides. Their restaurant and hotel recommendations are right on. With LA being the target for this book, it is a harder subject. LA is so spread out and so much of what people go to LA for isn't in LA proper. This books does cover well all the greater LA area but the vast region is still a challenge to cover in one moderately size book. That being said, this is still the best around, I think. The restaurant guides in Frommer's have never failed me and I am a very discerning diner and foodie.
