4.0 out of 5 stars Best overall
Of the three major guides that we looked at, in retrospect, this was the most concise and useful for our purposes. It was used mostly for information on what to see, and how to get there. We don't use these books for seeking out where to stay or eat, but for what we needed this was the most useful.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not recommended for young, budget travelers
I usually use Lonely Planet for all my trips, but this time I decided to try Frommer's. It wasn't bad--I like the idea of acknowledging which things are overrated or hidden gems, but the book was still a little dry for me. The hotels it lists are much more expensive than I was looking for, and the layout of the book makes it difficult to flip through for quick reference...

The hotels it lists are much more expensive than I was looking for, and the layout of the book makes it difficult to flip through for quick reference. It is the first edition though, and maybe the second will be a little better.

1.0 out of 5 stars Bad Advice, November 28, 2011
I bought this and Lonely Planet guides to Morocco and while I enjoyed reading this one before the trip, and it was the one I threw in my bag to bring along it was totally wrong the three times I followed its advice. Granted twice were subjective recommendations: the author lauded a hotel and a restaurant and we thought both were awful and his descriptions off to the point of parody. But the third miss was objective: I followed his cultural advice on do's and don't's and it was 100% flat wrong (and left me in a somewhat embarrassing situation). So we took his advice three times and struck out three times..... I'd recommend sticking to Lonely Planet which had a much better success rate.
