About the Author

About the Authors Karl Samson and Jane Aukshunas are a husband-and-wife travel writing team who spent part of their honeymoon trekking in Nepal. Karl, who lived in Asia during his early childhood years, is the team's creative writer and has been writing about Nepal since he made his first trip there in 1986. Though sickness prevented Jane from enjoying her first trek (in 1989), she has returned several times since then to assist with this book and has enjoyed all subsequent treks. Other books by this team include Frommer's Washington State, Frommer's Oregon, and Frommer's Arizona. Karl is also the author of Frommer's Great Outdoor Guide to Washington & Oregon. Though the two have seen Nepal change dramatically over the years, they still find it to be one of the most fascinating countries on Earth.

5.0 out of 5 stars Frommers' Nepal 1999, January 2, 2000

This review is from: Frommer's Nepal (Paperback)
This was the first book I bought to get ready for my trip to Nepal. I have not gone on that trip yet, but after reading this book I felt ready to tackle any travel encounters that may come my way. This book has extensive travel information to Nepal, dozens of phone numbers and up-to-date internet URL's related to Nepal and travel needs, as well as good information about hotels, restaurants, sights, you name it. This is a fantastic book to start out with if you are planning on visiting Nepal, and the price here is much less than what I paid for it at B&N. Happy traveling!
