5.0 out of 5 stars First Trip to Aruba
I found this book very helpful and easy to read. This was my first trip to Aruba and it provided me with a wealth of knowledge. My traveling companions were passing it around and reading it on the plane and once we got there. This saved us asking the front desk innumerable questions.I felt quite confident leaving the US to vacation in Aruba.

Like most Frommer's travel guides, this is a generally informative, pocket-size guide with accurate data for general trip planning to Aruba. Great if that is your destination.

However, the title is very misleading as most of the book is dedicated to Aruba, with only one chapter each devoted to the other two ABC islands. The minimal coverage of Bonaire and Curacao mainly point out differences from Aruba, but offer few details regarding the other island ammenities.

Since I purchased the book in anticipation of a scuba trip to Bonaire, I found it of little use. There are other much better guides for Bonaire.

3.0 out of 5 stars Slight disappointment, June 21, 2008
The biggest downfall to this book is the majority of the book is dedicated to Aruba. That is fantastic if that is where you are going, unfortunately we were going to Bonaire & Curacao. Information on Bonaire and Curucao is reasonable, would be helpful if more information on the restaurants was provided like hours and days closed, we seemed to have some problems with that.

2.0 out of 5 stars Covers only Aruba in detail, May 31, 2008
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
The title of this book is very misleading. I was primarily interested in the section on Bonaire. However, there is only 1 chapter (22 pages) on Bonaire and only one chapter (25 pages) on Curacao. Most of the book (8 chapters, 150 pages) is devoted to Aruba. So, if you are going to Aruba this book might be useful, but if Curacao or Bonaire is your destination there are much better guides available.

5.0 out of 5 stars The book to learn about the ABC islands, February 8, 2008
Frommers provides the most detailed and accurate information on travel anywhere in the world. I used this book for information on the island of Curacao. I highly recommend using Frommers travel guides.

There isn't very much information on Curacao in this book, but it is rather helpful for general things.

3.0 out of 5 stars Mostly useful for general info., October 24, 2011

This review is from: Frommer's Portable Aruba, Bonaire, and Curacao (Paperback)
I bought this book before going to Aruba. Overall it was pretty good and useful. However most, if not all, the info can be found online. This book is just a way to organize the information a little better. The problem with a book is that even the most current book isn't always the most current information. So for general information about Aruba it's great. However for details about restaurants, shopping, excursions, etc online might be your best bet. If you'd like a supplement to some other research you've done about Aruba this book fits the bill.

2.0 out of 5 stars A guide about Aruba and.... well.... deception., October 10, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This guide should be about Aruba, Bonaire and Curacao, but almost all the book is dedicated (badly dedicated) to Aruba.
I read the whole book and it will have very little use for Aruba and no use for Bonaire and Curaçao.
The maps are very poor, despite the ease of mapping a tiny island.
I would not recommend its purchase to Amazon users.

bought this for a trip to Curacao. The book was more geared around Aruba than Curacao but there were a few good tidbits
