This is one of the best guide books I've ever bought. There's suggested itineraries for 1-3 days, special interests, different neighborhoods and areas, and also day trips out of San Diego. The guide also has a hotel section and restaurant & nightlife listings. As if that's not enough, they've also included a full-size, tear resistant map.

This guide won't give you indepth details, but it provides good, brief descriptions, addresses and phone numbers, hours of operation, etc., and also maps to help you plan your days smartly.

If you're going to be in San Deigo, get this guide. You will not be disappointed. Fantastic information and the perfect size to carry around with you.

We used this book for a 5 day trip to San Diego. It was a great guide and perfect for our trip. Good suggestions for top things to see and do. The hotel section is lacking and I would stick with other guides or online searches. We really liked it because it was easy to carry around and didn't have lots of extra information that you don't need. We have started using Frommer's pocket guides for all of our trips to cities for long weekends -- Chicago, San Diego, and Boston.
