We recently spent a long weekend in Seattle, and this book proved to be very worthwhile. It is small enough that it fit into my purse (which is small). I used it a lot for the maps (complete with transit lines), hours of various attractions, and recommendations for things to do and see.

I had also purchased "Top 10 Seattle (Eyewitness Top 10 Travel Guides)" - DK Publishing, and barely ended up using that one at all. I found the details in this Frommer's guide to be much more helpful.

I am usually very dependent on my car, but we parked at the hotel on Thursday near the space needle, and were able to rely entirely on walking and buses through Sunday. Having the map on the inside cover of this book was really helpful. One thing I did find that I needed was bus-stops for the main routes we were using. Particularly the bus 99 (free/waterfront) route is currently different than the book showed (and honestly most of Metro's documentation showed, so it must be a very new thing). I went to Metro's site for the latest info and used a marker to update the map. I also added in bus stops for a couple of the key routes.

I enjoyed this book so much that I plan to even purchase the one for my local area ... it has lots of little hidden tidbits of history and sites, and I think it will be fun to be a tourist at home, too. :)

I would have missed so many wonderful sights without this book, which is small enough to stuff in my purse. Descriptions and directions were just right, and it included lots of fun things to do with the kids.

This book was a nice small and compact size to use as a travel companion. It fit easily in my camera bag and contained the top attractions to see in a my two-day trip. The map inside was easy to read and use to navigate my way around. I bought a couple other books to do research on what to see but this is really the only book I needed and took on my trip.

This was a great little book that I used in Seattle last year in August. It was my first visit to Seattle and it had all the information I needed to get around the city. Any numbers I needed and the map in the back was very helpful.

Without this little gem the $'s I had spent on flights and accommodations might have been wasted as I was in seattle for a mere 25 hours while my daughter was at a conference. While in flight, coast to coast, I was able to map out a 5, 7, and 10 ish (didn't know how long she would be so I gave myself options) hour tours of seattle by foot while she was busy. Got in roughly 18,000 steps, discovered a store that sold men's kilts, an underground city, the farmers market and a little restaurant overlooking the bay to rest my weary feet. I never knew that there is such a demand for fresh flowers as they were for sale everywhere! Prior to my visit I Had no idea how much the Indians of the northwest dominated the art scene. For a few dollars this book helped me maximize the other $1000 I had spent.

People might be snickering about why anyone would still buy a "pocket guide" book. Well, I don't own a smartphone, ergo I have to rely on real paper maps and such! This was a wonderful help on our first trip to Seattle. Good recommendations on everything. I agreed with all of them that we tried. The city bus and shuttle map was very helpful.

Helps you plan your days and week. Having lunch on the Space needle was fantastic. Our lunch was delicious and the view was spectacular. The Argosey boat locks tour was fantastic, as was the Glass museum next to the Space Needle. We adults, also enjoyed the Science museum. The EPN was a disappointment, though.
