Editorial Reviews

Review

"...Point-by-point walks ... offer structure ... while the 'best' sections ... make choosing a place to eat ... far easier ... original and insightful..." (PR Week, March 2006)

"...does an excellent job of filleting down the key sights - and provides useful maps... represents excellent value." (Mail on Sunday, February 2006)

"...perfect for travellers on a long weekend ... offers a range of smart ways to see each city..." (Scottish Daily Record, March 2006)

"...each one is full of useful information to help you make the most of your visit...don't go away without them!" (For The Bride, April 2006)

"...Frommer's produce travel guides for every kind of traveller, from students travelling on a tight budget to the luxurious round-the-world traveller..." (Uptown Magazine, April 2006)

"…this pocket-sized tome is in fact a rather welcome addition to the genre. Where so many guides fail by being hopelessly difficult to navigate, weighed down by extraneous background material and drably produced, this is bright, breezy and easy to use. It is colour-coded throughout, split up into logical sections and intelligently laid out with a detachable map. For those on a weekend break looking for a compact guide to the city this is among the very best available." (Italian, April 2006)

4.0 out of 5 stars perfect travel guide for short trips, September 18, 2009

We do a lot of traveling, and one of the biggest problems is the weight of guidebooks.
It's one thing to spend a long time in one major site, like London or Paris. A "normal" guidebook has enough detail to help, even if you've been there before and are down to "level four" sites, and the weight of one book isn't really a problem.
But, when you're visiting multiple locations, each for a short period of time, you can't really carry a complete book for each stop without needing a porter to help with your luggage.
So, when a friend who had been to Prague gave us his Prague Day by Day, we were sold and went out and purchased one for Vienna and Venice too.
While this series helps a lot in planning which sites to see on a short trip; has the basic info on transport, currency, power, etc; and includes the essential map - it's small enough to carry several and weigh no more than one full-sized book.

This one book has everything--explanations, pull out map, and a useful dictionary. I bought other products and this is really all I need for Venice.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Info and a Map, September 8, 2010

I found the Map very valuable and the text great for research for the next days adventures.
There is a lot in the book, so don't be overwhelmed. I found it fairly easy to navigate and the
Map was a great companion that I used each day I was in the area
