This review is from: Front Page News (Kindle Edition)
I didn't realize this was a romance novel. After I read it, I went back and reread the blurb & realized I should have known. So, that was my fault. I don't usually read romance novels, but I was well into the book before I realized it, so I went ahead and finished it. So, keep in mind that this review is written by someone who is not a fan of romance novels.

Strengths:

It did take me quite a few pages before I realized this was a romance novel. The opening chapters were indicative of just a good, solid mystery.

The story line here was interesting with a well-thought out plot to keep you guessing until the very end.

The writing was good as far as grammar, etc.

The sex in the book was tastefully done. Unlike a lot of romances, I wasn't left feeling like I had read a porno.

Weaknesses:

First of all, the Kindle formatting was messed up to the point of distraction. About 1/2 or more of the book was in italics. Also, there were various typographical type errors throughout, such as the word "a" missing, etc.

A few things about the story progression bothered me. Now, I realize this is a romance novel, but I could not imagine getting a job & then going to my boss' HOUSE on the first night of it, regardless of the reason. Yet, not only did the main character do so, but she knew right where he lived.

I also can't imagine someone moving in with their new boss after only 3 or 4 days working for him, for any reason. The main character had just gotten out of a bad relationship with her old boss, then after only 4 days, is living with her new one; I think they slept together soon after. It just made the main character seem phenomenally stupid, which, with her job, I would think she was a bit smarter than that.

Will appeal to:

People who like light romance novels with a little mystery thrown in.
