Review
This book is a handy little guide to 33 mountain biking trails in northern Colorado and southern Wyoming. Twenty nine of the rides are located in Colorado focusing in Fort Collins and the Poudre Canyon. Three of the five Wyoming rides lie between Laramie and Cheyenne. This book includes the general trail advice that's important to all mountain bikers. The "Before the Ride" chapter lists IMBA's rules of the trail, tools to carry, high altitude weather warning and a clear definition of the scale used when rating each trail. Each page starts with a complete description and directions to the trail head. The map supplied includes mile markers, terrain variables, and elevation changes. The book's spiral bound, which makes it easy to keep the trail map on top while riding. It's a nice size (4" x 8"), fitting into virtually any pack. The Front Range Rider covers a wide range of skill levels and terrain types. It's easy to read and very descriptive. Having ridden the Pole Hill trails prior to reading the book, I found the description given true to form. --
