Editorial Reviews

Amazon.com Review

You've got to have a Web page if you want to keep up, but it's difficult to find the time to learn all that design and HTML stuff. If you've decided Microsoft FrontPage 2000 is the Web design tool for you but you don't want to pore over the manual just to get something up and running, consider FrontPage 2000 for Busy People.

This is a visually-oriented, beautifully printed guide to the basics of using this software to its fullest without reading thousands of pages of dry-as-dust technical specifications. You'll get the basics on planning, designing, and creating your pages, as well as information on animations and creating easy navigation.

The four-color images and screen shots are really helpful for getting across exactly what you need to know, and the Busy People series feature "Stuff To Do Once To Make Your Life Easier" comes in just as handy as ever with time-saving tips and features. --Rob Lightner

4.0 out of 5 stars book reinforces what I already knew, January 18, 2000
This review is from: FrontPage 2000 for Busy People (Paperback)
Frontpage 2000 for Busy People. I find that this book reinforces what I already knew from practical usage of the product. This is good as a reference to aid the casual user or the office webmaster. The copious use of screen-shots all in one place helps the reader get a clearer look at the Frontpage2000 "Big Picture," by mimicking the screen the user is viewing. I recommend it for impatient folks like myself who may need a "Quick How-To" reference guide, or need the occasional Ah-Ha that's why it does that sort of answer. Although it is simple to understand, and very well laid out. It is not an in-depth book on Frontpage2000.

5.0 out of 5 stars The first FP2000 book I've read all the way through, April 28, 2000

This review is from: FrontPage 2000 for Busy People (Paperback)
I've used FrontPage 97, 98, and now 2000. During that time I've collected a library of books on FrontPage. This is the first one that I've read through from cover-to-cover. It is not in as much depth as some of the massive volumes (like the "Unleased" volume from Sams), but it presents a rich feast of information. It has enough screen shots to help with following the discussion but not so many that the text is skimped. And Christian Crumlish writes with a gentle good humor that makes reading fun, but the book doesn't force the humor in a "Dummies" book way.

5.0 out of 5 stars No Assumptions here, March 21, 2000
This review is from: FrontPage 2000 for Busy People (Paperback)
Many of the books I've read concerning Web Publishing automatically assume everyone is just starting out, not taking over a web someone else started. This book covers how to import a web site on page 2!

It is to the point and has a great combination of explanations and pictures for those of us who like visual / hands on type learning.

A MUST buy for anyone new to FP 2000
