book reinforces what I already knew, January 18, 2000
This review is from: FrontPage 2000 for Busy People (Paperback)
Frontpage 2000 for Busy People. I find that this book reinforces what I already knew from practical usage of the product. This is good as a reference to aid the casual user or the office webmaster. The copious use of screen-shots all in one place helps the reader get a clearer look at the Frontpage2000 "Big Picture," by mimicking the screen the user is viewing. I recommend it for impatient folks like myself who may need a "Quick How-To" reference guide, or need the occasional Ah-Ha that's why it does that sort of answer. Although it is simple to understand, and very well laid out. It is not an in-depth book on Frontpage2000.

The first FP2000 book I've read all the way through, April 28, 2000
This review is from: FrontPage 2000 for Busy People (Paperback)
I've used FrontPage 97, 98, and now 2000. During that time I've collected a library of books on FrontPage. This is the first one that I've read through from cover-to-cover. It is not in as much depth as some of the massive volumes (like the "Unleased" volume from Sams), but it presents a rich feast of information. It has enough screen shots to help with following the discussion but not so many that the text is skimped. And Christian Crumlish writes with a gentle good humor that makes reading fun, but the book doesn't force the humor in a "Dummies" book way.

No Assumptions here, March 21, 2000
This review is from: FrontPage 2000 for Busy People (Paperback)
Many of the books I've read concerning Web Publishing automatically assume everyone is just starting out, not taking over a web someone else started. This book covers how to import a web site on page 2! It is to the point and has a great combination of explanations and pictures for those of us who like visual / hands on type learning. A MUST buy for anyone new to FP 2000

Deborah Soulsby Review PGCE 2000/1, October 29, 2000
This review is from: FrontPage 2000 for Busy People (Paperback)
I thought this book was clear, concise and got straight to the point. I came away feeling confident in my ability to put together some webpages even though I had no experience. The instructions were easy to follow and the language used was aimed at the reader who did not know much about the construction of web pages. If there are only some areas that the reader wants to know about, the book offers an easy to read index with illustrations so the reader is able to go straight to the area in question rather than scanning the whole book. The book is well organised, with good illustrations and big chapter headlines, aimed at people who want to get somewhere fast.
