An Excellent Guide for FrontPage 2002,
By "pkrajan" (Cookeville, Tennessee, USA.) - See all my reviews
This review is from: FrontPage(r) 2002: A Beginner's Guide (Paperback)
The book FrontPage 2002: A Beginner's Guide by Kirupa Chinnathambi will be a boon for both beginners as well as experienced persons. Integrated throughout the book are many learning tools that facilitate easy learning of the concepts as well as techniques. Goals at the beginning of the chapters, Hints, Notes, 1-minute drills, Ask the Expert items, Mastery Checks and Cautions are all well thoughtout techniques that will assist any one interested in mastering the FrontPage 2002. At the end of each chapter is a project which provides a comprehensive training in the use of the techniques learned in the chapter. The book has been written in a very easily readable style. At the same time, it contains almost everything about FrontPage 2002; nothing important is left out. The author's experience on designing webpages clearly shows in the chapter on webpage design. It is an excellent way to teach the techniques of building a good webpage by comparing two sites and bringing out the good features of each. As a long time educator of technical subjects, I can easily see the effectiveness of this superb writing. The discussions on such advanced topics as animation, web components and interactive forms make this book suitable not only for beginners but also for experienced persons. Overall, this is a comprehensive book, excellently written with the reader in mind. It should be in the hands of any one who wants to learn FrontPage 2002.

Great FrontPage book for All Users,
By DHTML Dude (Portland, Oregon USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: FrontPage(r) 2002: A Beginner's Guide (Paperback)
Mr. Chinnathambi wrote an excellent book regarding Microsoft's FrontPage 2002. I bought this book upon reading the excellent reviews, and I could not be more happy that I did. As long-time fan of HTML and Web programming, I was amazed at how much FrontPage 2002 can accomplish quickly. This book helped me greatly in conquering all of FP's features.Upon reading Mr. Chinnathambi's book, FrontPage 2002: ABG, I learned about many features, tips, and techniques that I never knew FrontPage even had supported such as server side includes, asp database queries, and more. This book does a wondeful job at presenting information concisely. I had a question and e-mailed the author himself, and he was more than kind enough to respond back with a thorough reply that solved my problem. If you are looking for a great book that combines great information and top-notch help, I highly recommend this book for anyone. Beginners will enjoy the step-by-step information, intermediate users will enjoy the editing information, and advanced users will enjoy the information on databases, external css files, and more! Regards,

This review is from: FrontPage(r) 2002: A Beginner's Guide (Paperback)
Kirupa Chinnathambi has written a wonderful book on FrontPage 2002. This book, aimed clearly at beginner/intermediate Web developers, covers all the features of FrontPage thoroghly. Unlike many of the books I have seen about FrontPage 2002, this book guides the reader by helping them master FrontPage by following step by step examples. Within two days, I was able to learn how to use FrontPage to create a Web site. The question and answers and mini-quizzes ensure that you have gained all that the author wanted you to know from that chapter. I highly recommend anybody interested in learning about FrontPage to give this book a shot. It will really help you to learn FrontPage 2002.

Easy way to learn FrontPage,
By A Customer
This review is from: FrontPage(r) 2002: A Beginner's Guide (Paperback)
I have read many books about the Internet and Web development, but this book was one of the best. The examples are easy to understand, and many of the questions that I had about features in FrontPage 2002 were answered clearly. The chapter (module) that contained information about all of the FrontPage Web Components alone is worth buying this book. The entire book nicely combines design and information with source files and colorful examples created by the author himself! This will be one of the best books aimed at teaching beginners like me FrontPage.

Great Examples, Great Content, Great Book!,

This review is from: FrontPage(r) 2002: A Beginner's Guide (Paperback)
I don't normally post reviews on items, but this was the first time a book that I read actually fulfilled its purpose of teaching me FrontPage. I have had no prior experience in creating a Web site with the exception of a free site I maintained in my spare time. I was looking into improving my skills in design, and this book really helped me out by teaching the program we call FrontPage! If you are looking for a great book to get started in Web design using FrontPage, this book written by Kirupa Chinathambi is an excellent addition. What I liked about this book is the varied examples. A lot of the beginner guide books use the same or similar mundane examples and force people to learn from them. FrontPage 2002 A Beginner's Guide uses a variety of examples, color schemes, and more beyond the repetitive default MS provided themes. Best of all, Kirupa teaches you how to create the examples in a "recipe" like format with clear step-by-step instructions. In short, this book was interesting to read. The author has a bright sense of humor , and some of the examples in the book reflect that. Complementing the humor is the rock-solid content and examples. The author is very familiar with FrontPage, and one look at this book's Web site shows the author's deep understanding in design and FrontPage. Interspersed throughout the book are the Author's comments and Tips and Notes that teach you new methods of doing old tricks, explain unclear features, and tell you why things work the way they work. Get this book! It is the best book on FrontPage 2002 for newbies that I have read.

This review is from: FrontPage(r) 2002: A Beginner's Guide (Paperback)
I am not a complete beginner to the world of HTML and FrontPage, but I was far from able to create anything decent. I heard from several friends that this book was quite good, and I have not regretted my decision that I bought it. This is one of the best beginner/intermediate books I have read for FrontPage 2002. The author does a great job of covering this topic. Only after having bought this book did I realize that this author is the same individual behind one of the best technology sites, kirupa.com.The information is well organized and the instructions are great for people who don't know anything about FrontPage to follow. Much to my regret, the Author did not cover SharePoint, but then again, this book is about beginners and all beginner topics are covered quite well. The author presents an unbiased book on FrontPage that exalts the best features and admonishes the worst features in the book so you can avoid using them. All in all, a great book...very fun and informative!

This review is from: FrontPage(r) 2002: A Beginner's Guide (Paperback)
This is the perfect beginners guide to FP2002. I had never used any webdesign software before and Kirupa does an AMAZING job of explaining everything step by step...even for those of you that don't even know the standard MS Office commands. I read this book in a weekend, and then went back to the beginning and successfully got my webpage up and running in a few hours. It's organized perfectly from the basics to more advanced features and will be my FP2002 reference guide as long as I'm using FP2002.

Great Book!,

This review is from: FrontPage(r) 2002: A Beginner's Guide (Paperback)
After reading the first couple of chapters, I was able to get my feet wet in using FrontPage 2002 to create a mini Web site. I figured that because this book was written by a 16 year old, the book would be lacking in content and depth. But I was completely surprised. This book's step by step instructions are simply great with detailed explanations. I was even able to contact the author himself for a small question, and he responded within the next few hours just as promised in his book. This book is a great resource for any beginner or intermediate developer. Not only do you learn the basics of FrontPage such as image editing and text inputting, you also learn how to save form data and use Web components.

This review is from: FrontPage(r) 2002: A Beginner's Guide (Paperback)
Starting from introducing the FrontPage interface to integrating ActiveX controls and Java Applets into your web pages, the book has taken into consideration each and every aspect of Web Designing and Development the developers should be aware of.I really liked those 1-Minute Drills at the end of all major topics, and the Mastery Checks (with answers at the end of the book) and the Projects at the end of every module. I am sure they'll help you apply whatever you learned and make sure that you are on track, going in the right direction. All illustrations are clear and concise, and I am pretty sure they'll will help you a lot in getting yourself familiar with everything you can do with FrontPage 2002 at ease. "FrontPage 2002 : A Beginner's Guide" - Yes, an excellent guide and a "Must Have" for the beginners. |
