Being that I'm an Arkenstone fan,I waited with much anticipation for this album. It however didn't satisfy at all.Although the same style of music as Spirit Wind and could belong on that album, it just never grabbed my attention (Spirit Wind in my opinion, his best album). If you are an Arkenstone fan this one belongs in your collection, but it is best described as good...

3.0 out of 5 stars Not as good as most other Arkenstone efforts
This CD is good and is a reasonable addition to your music library if you are a fan of David Arkenstone's works. However, the effort is not as engaging or lively as most of his other efforts - - regardless of how big a fan you are. If you don't expect too much, you won't be too disappointed. If you've never experienced any of David's music before, start with one of his...

If you are an Arkenstone fan this one belongs in your collection, but it is best described as good background music. I would recommend three or four other albums of his before this one.

I was disappointed in this album at first, but after listening to it numerous times, I find that it has subtlies that I never appreciated. If you happened to buy it, play it several times, it'll grow on you.

DAVID HAS DONE IT AGAIN. AS WITH IN THE WAKE ON THE WIND HE HAS TAKEN A STORY AND MADE IT VISABLE THROUGH HIS MUSIC. HIS ANCIENT VOICES, SPIRIT WIND, AND SPIRIT OF THE CANYON ARE OTHER PROOFS OF HIS FANTASTIC MUSICIAL INSIGHT AND TALENT. THIS IS ANOTHER CD TO TRULY ENJOY.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent, February 6, 2009
This review is from: Frontier (Original Soundtrack) (Audio CD)
If everyone was paying attention, this music was the SOUNDTRACK for a TELEVISION SERIES.

Of course it is going to be different from David's other albums.

As a soundtrack, it was beautiful and moving for an amazing series on early America, but it also can stand very well on its own.

I love it, play it often, and have numerous friends getting their own copies after hearing it.

As always, David proves to be a master of his "gift".
