Booknews
Published in conjunction with the 1997 exhibition held at the Morris Museum of Art, August, Georga. Following an introductory essay, color reproductions (many of them accompanied by commentary on the artist) present late 19th century Alaskan works which illustrate the frontier myth; more contemporary works which offer proof of an amazing level of intuition and artistic creativity in a very tiny demographic arena; and finally, the commissioned efforts of Bill C. Ray which document the customs and existence of the native peoples of Alaska. 10.25x10.15".
