5.0 out of 5 stars Jesse Cook Frontiers
I've been anticipating the release of this album for some time since I am a huge Jesse Cook fan and this new master-piece does not disappoint.

I,am a lover of nuevo flamenco-music, that's the reason I buy these album. I,am not disappointed in Jesse Cook. He fits perfect between names as Ottmar Liebert, Govi, Gipsy Kings en Armik. I appreciate his custom to put a few voice-numbers on his album. A little bit variation is not bad.

5.0 out of 5 stars Jesse Cook Frontiers, July 20, 2007

I've been anticipating the release of this album for some time since I am a huge Jesse Cook fan and this new master-piece does not disappoint.
The feel of the album is very different compared to previous releases but I find myself lost in a new intrigue of musical passion as I enjoy the energetic tempo of songs like, "Matisse the Cat" and "Havana". Melissa McClelland's rich voice aligns beautifully with a brilliant arrangement of Bob Dylan's, "It Ain't Me Babe". I found several songs, such as "Turning" and "Europa" very ethereal and magical. If you are a Jesse Cook fan or just love the sound of a beautiful guitar, this CD is a must!

5.0 out of 5 stars a dfiferent side of Jesse Cook, October 5, 2007

Different than his other CDs, more introspective, more feeling.
A good range from the very upbeat "Matisse the Cat" the smooth
"Cafe Mocha", the driving beat of "Havana" to the most tender
feeling guitar solo I have ever heard, "Alone" which I could listen
to endlessly. But that's the quality that describes Jesse's
music, you can never get enough.

I am an avid music collector. Virtually every style except rap, and heavy heavy metal. I own literally thousands of albums. Jesse Cook is, in my humble opinion, the most talented acoustic guitar player I have ever heard. I love his music. The DVD included with this album is worth the price of the album alone! What a sound! I easily give five stars to all of his recordings. I own them all, with the exception of THE ULTIMATE JESSE COOK.(no need for a greatest hits album when one owns all of the albums!) A must for all serious music lovers, not just lovers of flaminco.

5.0 out of 5 stars Underrated talent - an act you must see, March 16, 2008
This review is from: Frontiers (Audio CD)
This CD is even better than his previous - especially when you see him perform it live. His magnetism, stage presence, and fellow artists are rich in entertaining culture. Its amazing what he can do to others recordings such as Dylan. Looking forward to many more performances and CD's from Jesse Cook.

5.0 out of 5 stars Riveted to my chair!, March 5, 2009
This review is from: Frontiers (MP3 Download)
This has got to be the best guitar playing I have heard in a long, long time. The rhythm is so compelling and the lead is so passionate I thought I was somewhere deep in the middle of a steamy Latin country, dancing perfectly to each beat. I have listened to many genre of music over the past 50 years and find the Spanish guitar style so riveting. Maybe because of my own Hungarian background and the lead violin going on. One minute you are happy and the next minute tears are streaming down your face for some unforseen reason. It's as if this music has just reached down and grabbed your very soul. You can feel every beat of your heart. Your foot won't stop tapping. I have not felt so alive in a long time. This is truly someone to be beckoned with. Jesse Cook totally gets music!

5.0 out of 5 stars A guitarrist performing, April 10, 2008
This review is from: Frontiers (Audio CD)
This is an amazing album, the one you expect from a well developed artist like Jesse Cook. The first five pieces are astonishing, but above all "rain" is simply a blue marvel. If youre looking for a new fresh flamenco music take it.

I have enjoyed Jesse Cook's style of music for sometime, but I think this cd is the best of all his releases. If you are a fan of Jesse I'm sure you will enjoy Fronties.
