Format: Hardcover
The original of this book was published in 1969, and I read it around 1970. It had a huge impact on me, all the detailed descriptions of single stage to orbit rocket systems, many of them developed in the early 1960s at Douglas, where my father worked. The artwork greatly magnified the impact. I can still clearly remember these images. The ideas are still advanced by today's standards. If you want a tour through "blue sky" rocket ideas with inspiring artwork, this is the book for you.

This is one of those rare books that was truly prescient about the future of space travel. It looks like a simple kiddie book but in fact has significant scientific information, and collects in one place many of the ideas that the aerospace leaders of the time were thinking about as they progressed past Apollo and into the era of space transport. Do not miss an opportunity to enjoy this book!
