5.0 out of 5 stars from the beginning April 25, 2012
Format:DVD
The best explanation I've seen on the current crisis. They start with an example and definition of derivatives, setting the stage for the financial tsunami...Interviewing Terri Duhon and Blythe Masters of JP Morgan Chase was really good. People, there are no words to describe the mess we are facing.

Clear, concise, non-partisan information. For some, it may be a little difficult to understand or follow. However, if you follow any financial or economic news you'll understand it - and understand it better than you did before....

The movie, Margin Call, would fit right in with the story of "derivatives gone wild."

I highly recommend this series/set. Even if you don't understand it at first, watch it and study up on this stuff - you need to know it....

3.0 out of 5 stars 4 hours in one sentence July 15, 2012
Format:DVD
I tried to think of how to summarize 4 hours of programming in one sentence. This is the best I could do: People did (and continue to do) things that were legal, rather than things that were right.

As usual with Frontline, they give us clear explanations and objective(ish) reporting. I appreciate the ambition and man-hours that went into this program, I only wish that in 4 hours it could have been a bit more insightful or surprising.

P.S. - All Frontline programs are available for free online, including this one. There is a Wikipedia page ("List of Frontline (PBS) episodes") with links to and brief descriptions of each.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great investigative reporting May 2, 2012
By SFsue
Format:DVD
Frontline did a great job in explaining a very complicated and difficult issue on how we got to where we are. Investigative reporting is so rare now that I am happy to buy this DVD just to show my support and appreciation. Also, PBS doesn't give bathroom breaks so an 4-hour of economic and greed lesson is best watched on DVD where you can pause or rewind.
