Great DVD. Lots of helpful information. But this DVDs actual copyright is 2006, not 1983 AND the run time isnt 60 mins, but actually 420 mins (7 hours).

This is a well written, well presented presentation of what Al Qaeda was and now is. It does base a lot of its information on the son of an Al Qaeda leader who 'defected' to help the CIA, and that reliance on one source made me wonder if he was totally reliable. But his story is so strange, believable and sad that I couldn't help listen to every word.

There's a lot of materiel and I'll have to watch it more than once, but it's a great purchase and has much less finger-pointing than the 'Bush & Cheney & evil network' slant of the rest of the PBS series.

Frontline is an outstanding documentary series and this collection of several episodes provides a multi-perspective view of our world in relation to Al Qaeda - it's origin, leadership, organization... I originally viewed many of the programs when they first aired and then purchased the DVD set and watched them again after September 11th. It is most interesting that some of the episodes actually aired before 9-11 and these program discuss the preceding 2 decades and what were some of the key factors leading up to the events.

It is a very informative series and also an great value.
