Don't waste your time or money with this garbage.

The tape sticks just fine to my window frame, but not to the plastic that comes with it.

Every year I say I'm going to cover the windows and every year I don't. This year however I looked on Amazon and found the right product for the right price. I even got the nine pack which worked out well because I turned one sheet sideways and used it to cover two smaller kitchen windows.

I followed the directions and cleaned the surface once with cleaner and when I was ready to apply the tape I cleaned again with Alcohol. The first one was a little crooked (but still worked) but by the time I got to #4 it was smooth sailing.

I can feel them move slightly in the breeze so I know that they are keeping the cold out. I would definitely recommend this product.

ps I'm a not so young lady and I did it all by myself.

I bought the nine pack and actually got 10 windows in my house. This has 9 separate sheets 42" by 62". There is more than ample tape, which sticks really well, even on the old window cills that I have. Shrinks up nicely, hopefully the tape will last through the dryest of the dry part of the winter. Got the nine pack on sale at a big improvement chain store for around 11 bucks, great buy. hope they work well for you too. Best of the 3 brands I have used over the years for indoor kits.

I feel compelled to defend this product against all the negative reviews. I have used it for 3 seasons with great success. You don't even notice I have it installed unless you are right on top of the window. I do nothing other than common sense preparation work. The tape likes a nice clean, dry, & warm surface. I see in other reviews that people are complaining that the tape is not adhering to cold surfaces. Most adhesives do not prefer cold. Chances are you have your hair dryer out anyway to shrink the window film...why not heat up the edge that you want the tape adhered? I have to say, once the tape is on there it really stays stuck unless you forcibly remove it. Hopefully that helps you stay warm and save some energy!

I saw some of the other reviews, and I am not sure why they had so much grief over this product. I've been using this product here in Alaska for more than 5 years now. If you do it the right way, it comes out perfectly and keeps the house so much warmer.

Don't wait too long to put it on when your window frames are already cold. It works better if you put it on just as the cold season starts.

If you just wipe the window frame with a dry cloth to get off any dust. (or moisture)

If you use a blow dryer to heat the tape just a little bit after you attach it to the window frame

If you wait 15 minutes to let the tape stick better.

If you start at the top corner and press down with your fingers a small amount of the plastic at a time, press over to the top left corner. Then press down the sides a little bit at time.

Then blow any wrinkles out with a blow dryer until the plastic is tight. Don't put the blow dryer too close to the plastic. Just about 6 inches away. Enough to make it melt slightly.

..if you do all these things and don't get in a hurry, you'll have a much warmer house.

Even if you have brand new, double pane or even triple pane windows here in Alaska - this window insulation kit is a must.

It's also great because if you have to get out of a window because of a fire or you need to open a window quickly, it's easy to tear it open and do so.

And just as easy to reinstall another piece.

If you don't do the things mentioned above, it won't work right. I've noticed, too, that the tape has gotten better and better every year. And practice definitely makes perfect. I can do about 10 windows in an hour now, where it used to take me a whole afternoon.

I put them on in October and take them off in April, and we stay cozy.

Fantastic product.

I applied the Frost King wrap meticulously and carefully and within days the tape came loose (even though I'd applied it with much pressure)! I ended up having to redo all the windows using thick double-sided mounting tape from the dollar store. In all, this doubled my cost of the shrink film! I used the 3M product in another abode and though it cost more, its performance was superior! I'll be writing to Frost to complain, then hereafter using only 3M.

This product doesn't have strong enough adhesive tape, the film easily comes off of the tape as well as the tape easily comes off of your window frame. Buy the 3M, its an excellent and superior product. I have used both Frost King and 3M and will never buy another Frost King product again. We noticed a difference in our bedroom after covering our poorly insulated windows with the 3M kit, worth every Penny.

Frost King Kit
PRO: None
Cons: Tape doesn't have enough adhesive. Film is thinner, cheaper. Easily comes loose!!!

The title says it all. The product that is designed to make a COLD and drafty window warmer doesn't stick to cold window sills. This product is JUNK.

The temperature in my bed room was about 58 degrees before using this product. I live in a townhouse built in the late 90's, that has horrible, drafty, and extremely large windows. With temperatures in the North East dipping into the low teens and negative number when you factor in the wind chill factor. I had to purchase this product.

I followed the direction, watch a few tube videos and was ready to insulate my windows. Please clean any area to which you are applying the double stick tape. Measure the entire window or portion you are covering. I had to cut a few plastic sheets to customize the fit for the large windows.

I applied the tape to the window box and sills and horizontally on the window frame (across the middle). Then I removed the plastic backing to the tape to uncover the sticky surface on the top area of the portion of the window I was insulating. I remove the tape backing and created a seal with the plastic and then blow dried the seal I created.....then I blow dried the plastic covering the window, so it would shrink taunt. Then repeated the process for the bottom portion.

I covered a large bay window, two basement windows and a closet window. Each area is 10 degrees warmer. My hubby no longer has to wear sweat pants, shirt and hat to watch tv in his bed room; our room is no longer a meat locker.

The product works, follow the directions, watch a few videos, take your time ....let the tape adhere.....this is the first time I've used this product and I have never used anything like it before. It did what I expected.
