Editorial Reviews

From Publishers Weekly

A strong central character enhances Weaver's predictable but satisfying interracial love story. Web designer Leah Russell has found her way back to the East Coast after living in California for years. Forced to confront her feelings for Sean Andrews, the sexy Scottish lead singer of the country's hottest band, Leah comes to realize that his friendship has become something more important to her, only she is standing in her own way. With friend and family support, Leah recognizes that being a strong, successful, independent black woman doesn't mean she has to sacrifice her chance at love. Weaver (No Ordinary Love) develops Leah's character with great care and concern, an effort highlighted by the rather stereotypical supporting cast. While the happy ending is predictable, Leah's self-discovery makes the novel well worth the read. (Oct.)

1.0 out of 5 stars Are you kidding me??????, October 14, 2009
This review is from: Frost On My Window (Indigo Love Spectrum) (Mass Market Paperback)
This book had a truly interesting premise; too bad the "male" lead of the romance was a footnote in the whole novel. This novel could have been so interesting; but I had to make myself finish it because I simply couldn't become interested in all the extra filler material concerning Leah's cousin and her work issues and that idiot that Leah maintained a crush on and his issues. I thought Sean was an imaginary character at first; because you heard alot about him but he didn't really have any significant appearance in the story until the last few chapters and the connection seemed forced to bring the story to an end. I normally don't mind when secondary characters have a strong presence in a storyline (because great secondary characters make great connecting stories); but this romantic story was missing a lot of the romance and could have been so much better.

1.0 out of 5 stars This book SUCKS, October 14, 2009
This review is from: Frost On My Window (Indigo Love Spectrum) (Mass Market Paperback)
This book was so bad I had to write a review. First of all I have a major problem with a book that is 300 pages long and the story does not START until page 230. Therefore, I had to read 230 pages of CRAP that had nothing to do with the very rushed ending we received. I felt like the author took me through the live of Rena for the first 230 pages and just left it hanging after that. Most of the information was useless. Poor Sean one of the MAIN characters was in the back seat the entire time. Not to mention that fact that Sean came off as a needy whimp. While Leah just whined and moanded about a lost love she never had. On top of that Since Angela Weaver took made such a big stink about Leah being hung up on Lance why did't have Leah confront Lance.

This book was a waste of a good tree. I have never read this author's books before and it would have to take an act of GOD to make me read another one of her books.

2.0 out of 5 stars So much potential, October 14, 2009
This review is from: Frost On My Window (Indigo Love Spectrum) (Mass Market Paperback)
This novel had so much potential. I am so disappointed. First of all, we had to read about how Leah and Sean met as a memory. There was not alot of interaction between the two of them. How in the world could believe they were in love if you don't see them interact but twice in the book?? I also had to make myself finish because I do not like leaving books unfinished (blame it on OCD I guess). I didn't have a problem with the cousin and other secondary characters, but they had more in the book then the hero. I have read this author in the past and I have enjoyed her novels, but this on missed the mark!
