My 3-year-old daughter is a big Frosty fan, and she very much enjoyed this little book. It is short enough to read for bedtime and it has recognizable drawings. My daughter asked me why the lyrics of the song were not included at all in the words so it may be good for other potential buyers to know that this is not a "sing-a-long" book; rather, it tells the story of how the snowman came to be, how the magician tries to catch the snowman, etc.

Frosty the Snowman is a book about a bunch of kids, winter, and a magic hat. If you already didn't know. The book takes you trough their adventure they have with frosty. Frosty takes the kids all over the city. I would say this book could be read by any age group. As long as you have a sense of imagination.

We bought this to read with our two year old daughter... I think it's a bit wordy for that age, but it is the true Frosty story line. I kind of wish it had the songs interlayed (is that a word?) within the book, but that's ok.

I loved this book as a child and am now enjoying it with grandchildren and greats, too. It is a timeless story that is just perfect for a naptime story. The pictures are colorful and interesting to a little child. The story is superb. It never grows old. It is a great favorite with my family. We love Golden Books, too. They are affordable and easily transportable. Frosty is a definite keeper in our collection.

I bought this along with two other Christmas themed Little Golden Books. I had these same stories growing up and was excited to start collecting and reading them to my daughter. I gave them 2 stars because of the quality of the books. Overall they are OK, but the pages stick out farther than the covers on all sides (other than the spine, obviously). They protrude about 1/8 of an inch, slightly more in some spots. Aesthetically, this bothers me a lot so I trimmed them all down. Other than that, the quality seems decent. We shall see how they hold up over time.

This is a nicely made board book, capturing the story of Frosty the Snowman, the old classic animated show.

The problem is, the Frosty story really isn't much fun without the song. The song MADE that show. The story is a dopey Snowman (Happy Birthday!!! is about all Frosty says), a girl in unnecessary peril, and a failure of a magician who really, really isn't nice.

If your kids like Frosty and Snowmen, they'll probably enjoy reading this with you. If you want to enjoy the reading too, look elsewhere.

Frosty is a timeless classic. The illustrations (although understandably somewhat dated) are lovely watercolour like drawings of happy children in a winter wonderland. Children enjoy having this story read to them. Variations of the origianl are available in text and video, but the best is definitely the original book.

Frosty truly is magical. I have read this to my about to turn 3 year old son maybe 20 times, and around 18 of those times he was excited at the beginning and out cold by the end. It's the only book he's ever fallen asleep while I read it to him, and I've read him about 15-20 books (repeatedly, we're building our selection). If he looks too awake to go to sleep, I pull Frosty out and he works his magic. It isn't boredom, because he truly loves it.
