5.0 out of 5 stars The best froth ever!!!!
For about 5 years I have been searching for the perfect way to get "starbucks style" cappucino at home. Without exaggeration, I have owned:
A miele built in espresso machine with integrated grinder and frothing wand - cost $2600

A kuppersbush built in espresso machine with automatic frothing device - cost $3195

Bought this on the recommendation of others who had reviewed it. I thought the reviewer who complained that she could not clean it properly was a fussbudget. However, I discovered that my machine was stinking after being stored for a few days with the lid mostly on. I took it all apart, which is extremely laborious, and got rid of the smell, but I cannot face having to...

A miele/nespresso built in espresco machine with their special "cappucinatore" cost $2495

A nespresso Aeroccino that is only designed for frothing a tiny amoung of milk - cost $100.

As a custom home builder, I have tried out a lot of products, and obviously, my coffee is important to me. So important...that in 10 years of internet shopping, I have NEVER written an Amazon review...except for this Froth Au Lait Product. So that should tell you how strongly I feel about it.

First of all, it only costs about $50, so how could it be any good I thought? I was skeptical, but for $50...I thought I might as well try it.

Well...let me tell you, this thing is probably the most amazing appliance I own. I have made countless batches of frothed milk in this device, and it not only heats the milk perfectly, but it gives a froth like I have never seen before. You can literally make the froth stand up above the mug...and you can make multiple cups at one time! There is no need to only use 1 1/2 oz of milk like the twice the priced aeroccino! This thing makes multiple servings, and the froth lasts forever. I have a cup of coffee sitting here that I made over 1 hour ago, and it still has froth!!

Not only is this product amazing, the price beyond belief, but on top of all that...there customer service is 2nd to none. I had a simple question about a frothing method, so I emailed froth au lait, and within a couple of hours, they actually called me!!! That never happens.

DO NOT buy the nespresso aeroccino instead of this. (or..actually just email me, and I will sell you mine, since it will never be used again)

Also..I am a custom home builder who has been in business for 15 years. I have no affiliation with this company, and don't even really know where they are located. (I am telling you this because sometimes, employees just happen to write "glowing" reviews about their company's products.)

If you like starbucks style froth, spend the $50 and buy this. If you want to spend $100, get less of a froth, and make a mess doing it, get the nespresso product.

5.0 out of 5 stars Frothmeister Extraordinaire!, January 2, 2003
By

I received this as a holiday gift from a friend on 20 December 2002. I have owned numerous brands of machines over the years including Capresso, Briel, La Pavoni, Braun and Krups. This one beats them all hands down! Just measure in your milk (2% seems to work best), add a little syrup for flavor, push the button and away you go! The froth produced is smooth, thick and even. . . almost a meringue. There will be enough warm milk and froth for more than a few cups. Cleanup could not be easier! Just wash the inside of the pitcher with a little soapy water, rinse and turn over to air dry in your dishrack. Some of my friends work as barristas at the local coffee houses and they marvel over the quantity and quality of froth that this machine produces. If you are tired of paying exhorbitant prices for your fix. . .get this machine, some good beans, a burr grinder and a french press. Learn to do it yourself. You will save major money while forgoing none of the pleasure inherent in a fine cappuccino, teaccino or latte'. I cannot reccomend this machine more strongly! As this is a newly accquired item, I will revise my initial review should any problems manifest themselves with this unit over time. For now, it does not get any better than this!

However, I discovered that my machine was stinking after being stored for a few days with the lid mostly on. I took it all apart, which is extremely laborious, and got rid of the smell, but I cannot face having to do this on each use. So I am disappointed - the machine works really well and is easy to use, but it's no good having a machine for heating milk that cannot be kept meticulously clean. Sorry - they need to re-design this one.

5.0 out of 5 stars Works as described!, March 15, 2002
This review is from: Froth Au Lait Frothing Unit, White or Black (Kitchen)
Very happy with this product. Gets a little too hot for hot chocolate for children. This can be remedied by removing the pitcher from its base earlier in the cycle. Makes great foam which is why I bought this product. You have to hand wash but it is not too difficult. Overall, would recommend as one of the best frothers. I have a Delonghi expresso maker and a Bodum frother (glass one). I prefer this product.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great results, February 4, 2003

I bought this frother to use for making Chai Tea since I was sick of going to Starbucks for my fix. The instructions are very clear & easy to follow, the operation of the unit extremely easy. You basically pour in the milk & let it rip. I tested it using Swiss Miss cocoa mix & it worked like a charm - it really jazzed up an otherwise mundane cup of cocoa. The thick foam lasted for about 45 minutes & the unit produced more than enough. Even though it's not a "name brand", I highly recommend this one!

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic!! You'll love it!!, December 29, 2002
By A Customer
I've finally found the perfect appliance that makes a rich, lasting froth and I do mean rich and lasting. I was surprised that the froth was actually better than anything I've ever gotten at a designer coffee shop. And the clean up couldn't be easier or quicker - just follow the directions which say to immediately place a small amount of warm water in the pitcher to soak. If you love cappuccino, this is a must have appliance. I would, and have, recommend this product to friends. You will not be disappointed, I know I'm not.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Froth, cleaning is not great, March 1, 2007
This review is from: Froth Au Lait Frothing Unit, White or Black (Kitchen)
The froth is great though it seems to generate about 1.5 servings worth at the full mark. I would settle from less air in the froth if I could get more steamed milk out of it. Like some other reviewers are saying, the thing can be a pain to clean because some of the milk does burn.

I'd probably buy it again.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very pleased, December 2, 2001

Love/need! my cappuchino, but have not been happy with the froth made by either of my two $400 espresso machines. Decided to try a Froth au Lait, and am VERY pleased. Vastly superior to my machines. Am ordering a second machine today!

A terrific frother. You don't have to mess around with a steam tube, and the frothed milk is easier to make and better than you would believe. You can even add flavoring syrups. Cleanup is easy.
