An absolutely phenomenal CD...,

For the most part, I do not tend to enjoy woman-fronted bands. My taste tends to lean towards a more aggressive, and much less techno sound. However, after hearing the song "Perfect Day", while shopping at a CD store, I picked up the Frozen Charlotte CD, and have since been impatiently waiting for this band to release some new material. There is quite simply not a bad track on this CD. The overall sound of Frozen Charlotte is somewhat dark and mysterious, with an erotic undertone. Sierra Swan's vocals and lyrics are pure ear-candy. And Graham Edwards is a master at providing Sierra with the perfect muscial backdrop to compliment each song's feel. Everyone I have played this CD for has purchased their own copy. I highly recommend picking it up.

A band with promise,

Dollshead is something of a cross between Garbage and Curve, but they lack the spunk of former and the depth and density of the latter. I enjoyed some of the songs on this album, but the lyrics needed polish and content, as well as the instrumentation. I greatly look forward to their next album as they find a bit more direction and maturity. It's a good deput album, but it's not terribly novel.

Glamourous Dysfunction,

Dollshead may have stolen eggs out of the basket of Curve and Garbage, but I think the musical omelet they've created is far superior. I am constantly playing this CD. Sierra Swan's vocals are cool and sleek and Graham Edwards use of electronics and guitar bring out her voice to the front. "No Karma, No Candy" has my favorite lyric: "Don't call me an animal. Don't call me a cannibal. Don't call me a metaphor. Don't you dare call me a little whore. I'm not your girl." The songs speak of emptiness, bitterness and mortality as she examines her ruined life. They've taken dysfunction to a new level.

Unrealized Talent,

As it has been many years since the release of this work, I can't help but feel disappointment that DollsHead may never release another album again. This is a terrible shame because this one is so well orchestrated and presented. It seems that each track gets better and better as the CD progresses. The album is truly one of kind, and I encourage anyone with even a mediocre interest in this band to pick it up. The vocals of Sierra Swan are energizing and empowering. The beat and sound of the music seems new, but familiar also. It has a light techno twist to it that benefits rather than detracts from it's style. As this album is no longer in reproduction you'd better get one before there are no more left to buy (used or new). Everyone I've introduced this album to loves it as much as I do. I'm certain there are many disgruntled fans of DollsHead at this band's demise. Would this band have produced more music, I'm certain they would have a loyal following.

This earlier recording by Sierra dn her sister is very reminiscent of Garbage's earlier days. This CD had a good run in my car stereo and my home. I had to advance to listen to more of what Sierra Swan had to offer and am perplexed as to why she never made it into the mainstream. Her Ladyland cd is a must for any Dollshead fan. But the DollsHead CD is a sophmoric and enjoyable CD to listen to. I recommend it for the garage band fans.

Timeless, Under-valued and Unfortunately Over-Looked,

Brilliant. Ahead of it's time. Clever and insightful lyrics. Ageless. Under-appreciated by the music world. The band's disappearance is a profound loss to us listeners. Should have fired their marketing manager since songs didn't get much air-time when originally released. Should have been "Album of the Year." Combined talent is over-the-top. Sierra Swan passionately sings her heart out emotionally and mindfully at the perfect groove points in each lyric. Graham Edwards is a superior music master and arranger.

Dollshead is a beautiful and fun cd. It goes beyond the borders of normal genre, and explores variation. Sierra Swan has a angelic voice. She is probably most well known for her guest spots on other cds, such as for the band Cold. This is a wonderful, underrated cd.

Good smooth sounds make a great album.,

When I first saw this album, I wasn't to sure of what it would sound like. Then I listened to the first couple of songs and realized that I hadn't wasted my money. This album has nice smooth beats with a techno like theme that's sure to leave a good impression on most people. None of the songs are really boring, it's an all around good C.D. to listen to.
