5.0 out of 5 stars The Frozen Pirate, November 1, 2010

Great book! A little difficult to read at times due to old fashioned wording. Historical survival story takes place in the Antartic with a touch of paranormal activity. Enjoyed it!

Over 130 years old and very exciting. I got it free on Kindle. What a read. I am a sailor and it was like I was there. This is a real wakeup for old books for me.
Read it, superb reading.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Winning Edition, October 9, 2010
This review is from: The Frozen Pirate (Hardcover)
This is an excellent reprint from the publisher formally titled The Battered Silicon Dispatch Box known among cognoscenti as "The Sherlockian publisher of first and last resort."

A handsome little book in dustjacket: navy blue cloth over boards with gold details; sewn binding; 241 pp. A handful of period illustrations.

It does an admirable job of placing this novel/novella within the Sherlock Holmes chronology, featuring an introduction by John H. Watson, MD, a Postscript, "How Mr. Clark Russell Writes," Biographical information on Russell, and a short analysis by Hugo Koch.

I bought this for my husband who loves stories about the sea. He enjoyed it and shared some of it with me. Good book.
