2.0 out of 5 stars Might Be Worth It if It's Free April 10, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
I got this book for free but if I had paid for it I think I would be pretty disappointed. It reads like a magazine article from All You magazine magazine where they just throw random tips at you and hope that one sticks. There are a couple of good tips (the soda bottle sealer, for example) but the rest are a combination of things you already know and things that just seem unappealing. For example, shower cap as a reusable plastic wrap? Are the plastics used in shower caps even safe to be in long term contact with food? Why not just invest in some nice Pyrex or tuppewear set that can, not only store left overs, but go from freezer to microwave and safely transport your food? A lot of the tip involves salvaging near expired food, freezing, using concentrates, and microwaving so if you're someone that likes to "eat fresh" there's very very little in here for you.

2.0 out of 5 stars Internet Makes Obsolete June 17, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
I downloaded this small book, Frugal Kitchen Tips, for free out of curiosity, and although I found it easy to read and filled with good frugal kitchen tips, my opinion is that the internet unfortunately makes this book, and others like it, obsolete. Rather than keep this small book on hand and search through it when facing a kitchen challenge, I'd personally prefer to simply do a quick internet search for a solution.

That said, Frugal Kitchen Tips might make a nice gift for someone just starting out on their own, maybe a new college student or recent college graduate, who'd maybe benefit from a nudge in the right direction.

4.0 out of 5 stars This book has many new tips! June 18, 2012
By Anna
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
I downloaded this onto my Kindle because it was free. I really didn't expect much because I've read so many "frugal" books and blogs, but there were many tips that I'd never heard. All of the tips seemed very realistic and easy to implement, which is often not the case in other books like this. This is great "tip" book, written in an easy-going style with real-world uses.

5.0 out of 5 stars Thank you
I appreciate that the author took the time to write this book. I hate buying a product that I'll only use a little of, such as corn syrup and chili sauce. Thank you again.

2.0 out of 5 stars I expected more.
While this might be helpful to someone just starting out I only found two or three tips I didn't already know about. Since the app was free I can't complain too much though.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not much new
Not a bad deal for free but I wouldn't pay anything for this book. Most tips are easily found by Googling or on much better blogs.
