About the Author
Caroly Jones has been a teacher, a public relations director, and a freelance writer.
She and her husband George are avid frugal travelers. They often travel for months in places overlooked by tourists. She wrote this book both to encourage travel to places and cultures fast disappearing while they still exist and to help persons avoid problems associated with traveling inexpensively. She and George have spent months in several South American countries, Australia, China, Greece and more. In between long trips, they go on canoe and hiking trips to romote locations in the U.S.
Caroly lives in Arizona on a 20-acre ranch called Ranchito Chupaflor. It is named for the hundreds of hummingbirds that visit them each summer.
