It wasn't easy at all for me. I love to eat! But it was worth it! I did lose 9 pounds which was amazing because I am not overly overweight. I needed to lose about 4 pounds. But I wanted to cleanse my system as well. The first 2 days I was a little tired, but then my energy level restored itself. I recommend drinking a LOT of water with this plan. It kept me feeling full...

I lost 2.5 pounds. Maybe I wasn't toxic enough. 2.5 pounds is respectable for 3 days, but how could I not be disappointed that I didn't get closer to the promised "up to 9 pounds"? I also need to lose 50 pounds, so it isn't a matter of me not needing to lose that much.

edited to add: Gained the 2.5 pounds back the next day, I wish I could take a star away.

It wasn't easy at all for me. I love to eat! But it was worth it! I did lose 9 pounds which was amazing because I am not overly overweight. I needed to lose about 4 pounds. But I wanted to cleanse my system as well. The first 2 days I was a little tired, but then my energy level restored itself. I recommend drinking a LOT of water with this plan. It kept me feeling full most of the time. There were no special foods to buy and the only supplement you needed was protein powder. Oh! And the Jay Robb protein powder (I had Vanilla) was actually tasty. Not so with a lot of powders. So give it a shot. It was worth it.

Note that this book is not for a diet plan (although you will lose weight) but for a detoxification plan, a plan that cleanses your body from toxins and harmful foods and other substances. The book is short (only 48 pages including bibliography, ads, endorsements, etc.) but is more than enough to understand how to do the Fruit Flush.

I have hypoglycemia and have been able to perform it successfully to the end only once. I have gone through it unsuccessfully (stopped it part of the way through) about four times. It is hard for me to follow because of my blood sugar issues and still perform my job; if I had someone preparing the meals for me and if I didn't have to work it would be much easier as I always get really sick on a detox. Note that Jay Robb himself has hypoglycemia and says that it helped him with his hypoglycemia, however.

The Fruit Flush is a healthy and effective detox, not faddish at all. It isn't cheap, but if you are going to do this cleanse, you have to use clean, whole foods and a good healthy protein powder. Otherwise it isn't really a cleanse.

This is a very useful book for a sound, well-grounded detox plan. Recommended.

WOW! I can't believe that I lost 7 pounds on this fruit flush. When I read the other reviews I thought that because I'm only 10 lbs. from my goal weight that I wouldn't lose much, but I did! I have to admit that I was very hungry most of the time, but I was motivated to keep going because I knew the next time I got to eat would be only an hour or so away. I have been stuck at a certain weight in my weight loss efforts for about a month, and this was just what I neded to get me over the hump and recharge my enthusiasm. Now that I've finished the fruit flush with such great success, I'm going to continue with Jay's "Fruit Diet" to get me to my goal weight.

Both plans are super easy to follow, and feature immediate, impressive results. The first day on the Fruit Flush, I was headachy. The second and third days that was better, but I was, like I said before, hungry most of the time. But it was definitely worth it for me. I'm psyched! I've tried pills and many different diets with minimal success. I was very discouraged. I feel that I've found a great tool for healthful, easy and effective dieting. I highly recommend Jay's books.

I really like this way of eating. The diet is simple to follow and healthy. I had been put on a high protein diet for my diabetes and after 5 years I was no longer losing weight and my kidneys weren't functioning well with all the protein. Just at the same time I came across this diet and boy do I feel better and my sugar levels are staying low. I follow up my fast with Jay's Fruit Diet. I have been on the eating plan for 4 weeks and have lost 18 pounds. So it was easy and worked for me and the lower protein is good for my kidneys.

Ok, I have one disclaimer. If you can't stick with everything the fruit flush tells you to do, there's a strong possibility that the diet won't be effective or as effective. On to my review....

I LOST 8LBS in 3 DAYS! Now I will say that I have a long way to go, however Mr Robb does say if you're not overweight that you may not have a huge weight loss, hence some of the reviews I've read stating they only lost 3 lbs. Well clearly 3 lbs when your goal is 6-9 lbs is very successful. The book says UP TO 9 lbs. No further explanation needed. My experience...

The first day was torture. Only because I LOVE food. A lot. Jay Robb's whey protein shakes are some of the best I've had, but yet it is still a whey protein shake, so if you can't stomach the shakes, you won't make it. I must say by my 4th shake, I was shook, but I kept going since I'd made it that far. I don't know if I was just hungry or if the salad was really good but the 6pm salad was suprisingly delicious. Mr Robb said I couldn't use salt which is my specialty but he never said I couldn't season it. So I had everything from garlic to italian seasoning. The avacado was yummy. The key here is to have A LOT of different vegetables. Lettuce, green onions, mushrooms, bell peppers, cilantro, cucumbers, etc. GREAT!

Fruit days were ok. I love fruit so I was excited. It probably wouldn't be half as bad if my co-workers didn't all get pizza for lunch during my cleanse but I toughed it out. I knew I only had 1 1/2 days left. Salad...yummy!

In any rate, 3 days later and I'm down 8lbs. I couldn't get past a hump in my weight loss, especially after the Super Bowl, but Mr Robb helped me to not only get past my hump but demolish it! Definitely starting Fat Diet next. I trust him to help me make this journey so much easier.

I'll preface this by saying that I like Jay Robb (particularly his book the Fat Burning Diet) and I even like the idea of this book. The only downside is that you could summarize this diet on an index card, which makes even the low price of $5 seem steep. I also question why this wasn't just included in his full size book the Fat Burning Diet.

I have tried the fruit flush two times already. Each time I have lost around 7-8 lbs. =) It is easy for me because its ONLY 3 days. As long as I stay in that mindset I can finish. After, I reward myself with something I had been craving the days before.

It is the first diet/detox I have tried that actually holds up to what it claims.
I am wondering if anyone has done it more than just one week. Is it safe to do so, and do you continue to lose weight? I only need to lose about 10 lbs now.

My husband and i did the fruit flush a few weeks ago. We didnt weigh ourselves because we have decided to stay off the scale it can be so discouraging. I can say that we both reaped many benefits:

1. My husband has been struggling with his blood pressure and it came down significantly after the 3 day fruit flush

2. It increased our desire for fruits and salads even after the flush, we feel like we will be able to incorporate more raw foods in our diet and really enjoy them.

3. I am hypoglycemic and have tried various cleanses where calories are limited and or there is a lot of fruit. I also never eat fruit first thing in the morning as it usually makes me sick if i dont eat it with protein or dont eat my protien first. I am not sure why this diet worked for me but it did. I did not feel weak, light headed or anything through the 3 days. I was full of energy which brings me to point 4

4. I woke up everyday with energy!!! That is a big plus because i normally wake up really groggy which i think is due to me always eating something sweet (cookies) before bed. This was a great benefit

5. It helped my bad breath. I am always worried about my breath flossing, water pic, brushing etc... and at some point through the day i still have a problem. I do eat a lot of raw garlic and onion from salsa, gaucamole that kind of thing and it really does a number on my breath. But even when i dont consume those things i have bad breath. I know it probably is a digestion issue more than oral although i work it both ways, drink chlorophyl etc... however my mouth has never felt so clean as the 2 days we were eating all fruit. it was a wonderful feeling to have clean fresh breath ALL DAYYYY fresh from the inside out. No need for gum or mints. I could talk to people up close without gum in my mouth and that NEVER happens. It was a really unexpected and wonderful benefit.

6. My husband and I both lost inches. I was able to wear a skirt that i normally cannot zip up or wear all day because it is so tight and uncomfortable. I was able to wear it comfortably. Although i still have a lot of weight to lose it did help with weight loss. If i had to guess i probably lost about 3 to 5 lbs but mostly noticed in inches.

7. i decided not to work out during the flush but my husband had been working with a personal trainer and decided to keep up his sessions. Amazingly he did GREAT...he didnt feel weak at all and in fact said he had better sessions than before the flush. He felt stronger and had more energy through the workout. The trainer even complimented him on his progress.

I think the book is work the money for sure and worth a try. I am sure its something i will do several times a year and am even considering doing it once a week for awhile to help with the rest of my weight loss. The only negative which is why i am rating it 4 stars is that the first day is very difficult with the protein shake. Jay Robb's protein is healthy but it taste HORRIBLE especially just with water and no fruit added. I had not realized how much flavor my soymilk and fruit was adding to the shakes. I really almost gagged several times. I absolutley hated the taste of it. I also used Biochem's unsweetened Vanilla. They both are good, healthy powders with great benefit to the body but boy do they taste bad with nothing but water...YUCK. That said still worth a try and am sure everyone will get some kind of beneifit if the diet is followed exactly.
