Peter Doherty has a undechipherable romance about him. The first song, is full of jerky, stop-start rhythms fuelled by his rasping yet beautiful voice. It is a great song, brilliant lyrics, brilliant tune.

The next song, East of Eden is a lot slower, some would say painful track. However after a few listens it turns out to be at the very least an average song, at best a good B-side.

The final track, the self titled Babyshambles is the jewel of the cd. The band really seem to 'gel' on this song, while part of the beauty of Babyshambles have always been the blemishes of the songs, this song is devoid of them. It is not preferable, but at equal to more ugly songs. It is the best pop song Pete Doherty has penned for a while, maybe even since 'Don't look back into the sun'. While the majority of his releases are excellent, few could be called pop, only 'Don't look back...', 'for lovers',

All in all an excellent 3rd single from what is really a new band, one that has only being going for a year. How many bands release three great singles within a year of forming? Babyshambles did. Do many others?

If you are a Libertines, Dirty Pretty Things, Babyshambles fan like me, then buy this! If you like Down In Albion, then you'll love this EP. Contains 5 songs not included in the LP. Black Boy Lane (4 stars), Monkey Casino (5 Stars), East of Eden (4 stars), Babyshambles (5 stars) and F**k Forever Clean version (5 stars). Buying this can expand the excellent music experience. I also recommend the Albion single and The Blinding.
