In FUEL players race across and explore the world’s largest racing environment – over 5,000 square miles of spectacular wilderness. Set to revolutionize multi-terrain, multi-vehicle racing, FUEL is a fiercely competitive, open-world game without boundaries. On and off-road, two and four-wheeled vehicles race a massively diverse environment, from scaling the highest snowcapped mountain to racing the deepest arid canyon.
In an alternate present, vast stretches of America have become no-go areas as the devastating effects of global warming ravage the continent. Floods, storms, brush fires, tornadoes and hurricanes have driven people from towns and cities into safe zones as extreme weather wreaks havoc, creating thousands of square miles of dangerous uninhabitable areas. People turn to renewable energy in the face of the destruction caused by this catastrophe. But these danger zones have also become a playground for a new breed of racer. With a stockpile of fuel to be burned, adrenaline junkies head into the wilderness to compete against each other in spectacular races against themselves and the elements. Vehicles FUEL features 70 different unlockable vehicles designed to support pick up and play arcade style fun. Each of these feature aggressive styling, unique performance and surface specific handling and can compete with each other no matter how or where they are united. The six different vehicle classes include:
Race Types and Challenges FUEL features a wealth of race types and challenges. Races include A2B Time Trials, Checkpoint Races, Circuit Races and Raid Races; while some of the additional challenges include 'Long Raids'--races that can last for hours--and 'Knock Out' events, which are checkpoint races where the last racer to cross the line is eliminated. Never Get Lost With GPs Each vehicle in the game comes equipped with a unique GPs system. Showing up on the game screen's heads-up display (HUD), arrows display a route that will take advantage of the distinctive capabilities of that vehicle, always indicating that fastest, most appropriate route. Race well and players are alerted to an extra route--one that is riskier, more hazardous--but potentially quicker. Of course, you can always choose to switch the GPs off and forge your own way through the wilderness. Key Features
FUEL is a seamlessly integrated offline and online gameworld featuring hundreds of challenges across countless locations. Players can compete against friends in all of the game's 70 career races, as well as online free rides via Games for Windows LIVE. In addition, to these pre-designed events players can use the powerful route editor to create their own challenges set anywhere in Fuel's world and share them online. |

I'm the kind of person that like's free form game with no limits & at you'r own past type. This has has it all. GIGANTIC map, i mean literally it's so big i sometimes just spend time riding around looking at the great views and places to see..and not doing any career races. The vehicles in this game are all very different and most are very fun to drive. The races at times are hard, even on easy which makes it so frustrating to race, so i just sometimes drive around, but to unlock more of the map you need to do races which like i said before can and area very hard at times.... The few cons i have are. There are no cities or any places with buildings, besides a few that have like a block or two of buildings which isn't anything compared to the Gigantic map.. Then the popup of loading tress and grass can sometimes be right in you'r face, like 30 away. also can look unfinsihed at times.. And there is not much other cars driving around, offline, just a couple different trucks here and there Well i mean besides the hard AI at times this games is very fun, Super Huge map to drive around, will take ten's of hours and more to see everything .. and some pop up's,, but on the bright side, this is a very great deal for $10..get it because it is no longer being sold at any store.

This is a fun game, if nothing else. Yes, the landscape stretches on forever and there are no "walls," you can ride though roads, desserts, even shallow water. Yes, there are a lot of vehicles, though those vehicles come in classes only a couple per any given class. Yes, the music is OK, though not the sort of heavy metal I'd expect from a game like this (you can always replace the sound files, you just have to rename them appropriately, or just run your favorite music player in the background.) The vehicles all have similar handling (though some do much worse off-road) and the customization is not-existent (only colors can be changed). The only thing that saves this game from being a near-miss is the fact that it uses LIVE. It can be played online in races, as well as just free ride around the same vast wasteland you ride offline. One fun thing I like to do is wheelies or stoppies on bikes. They come out quite well (I'm using a gamepad). Also, I must note, you cannot do tricks in this game, the game does it automatically (if you get a high enough air on a bike or quad) for you (which is a minus in my book). I would say, though, that it definitely is not worth the money. I'd suggest waiting for price-drop or just going for Flat Out Ultimate Carnage (also a LIVE game by the way) or a similar game.

I'm glad it was cheap. This arcade racing game was fun for about a half hour, and then it got boring. The graphics are ok, but not great. The game play gets old fast. The racing is ok, controls work good (Rumble pad II). It's just boring after a short time. Free mode is fine, but there's nowhere really to go except from race to race or picking up vehicles and clothes, yes clothes..... Accessorize by getting all kinds of "livery" outfits, colors and logos. Would have been better if it was a female driver instead of male.... I don't accessorize.....
